    Carrbridge, is nestled in the Scots Pine woods and below the Monadhliath Mountains, and is part of the scenic Cairngorms National Park.

    The village has plenty of accommodation, including hotels, B&Bs and self catering. It has three restaurants (two within hotels), a food store/post office, an artists studio and a seasonal craft shop.

    Carrbridge has has a famous 18th century packhorse bridge, which celebrates its 300 year anniversary this year (2017). The name of the village derives not from "carr"-iage bridge or any derivation but the old word for "boggy".

    The village has two major events each year, Carve Carrbridge which is a chainsaw carving competition and the World Porridge Making Championship, which attracts competitors from across the world.

    There are lots of activities to do in Carrbridge, including walking/hiking, birdwatching, photography, mountain biking, golf, fly fishing. Locally you can take part in snow sports, river rafting, quad biking, zip wires.

    Landmark Adventure Park is located in the village and there are also other local attractions including the Strathspey Steam Railway, Cawdor Castle, Cairngorm Mountain, Highland Wildlife Park, Highland Folk Museum and too many whisky distilleries to name!

    There is a train station in the village and it is on the bus route between Aviemore and Inverness.
