  The many good reviews received for this Campsite are not wrong. Set halfway up a deep valley on the road to Pal village, it has a backdrop of beautiful pine covered mountainsides, and the constant sound of the nearby stream torrent that runs by the side of the camp.

  It has 3 different accommodation zones: A large block with 16 apartments, 8 log cabins and a campsite field for 30 or more caravans, campers and tents.

  Running up and down the valley is their 18 hole pitch & putt golf course.  You need to have a licence to play.

  The owners Mariebelle and her brother and their family are very friendly, she speaks Catalan, Spanish, French and passable English; and is more than willing to help out in any way and are greatly appreciated by visitors.

  Visitors to the Park are mainly from Spain and France; but you often encounter other europeans like Brits, Dutch, Swedes and Germans.  It is not on the "through road" from France to Spain; so will involve a bit (30mins) detour off the main road if you are passing:  it is worth the trip up the North Valley.

  The Palarine Hotel/Bamboo Restaurant, is a welcoming place to stay and eat in Andorra. The hotel welcomes skiers, mostly from the UK & Ireland, and the restaurant/bar is hub of expat life.

  Graham is the friendly manager/landord and together with his chinese wife Maria they expertly run the Palarine (and the bamboo restaurant).

  The chinese food is excellent and unique in this part of the world - other chinese restaurants in the area (of which there are very few anyway) serve nothing like it.  Well known and respected, locals come all the way from La Vella and La Massana to enjoy the food.

  There is a "english pub" atmosphere to the place (without the cigarette smoke), as many of the local british expats tend to often congregate here.  Big screen TVs play important sports games.

  The Hotel Montané is a small, family run hotel that has the enviable position of being located directly in front of the lower gondola station for the Arinsal ski resort.

  Fiona (originally from Scotland), and her family and friendly staff have operated this hotel for over 10 years.  In the kitchen chef Jose, who is originally from the US, serves up good quality food that is known all over Andorra.  People specially make the trip up to this end of the north valley to enjoy dining here.

  You need to use the new bus station which is about 10/15 mins walk in the direction of Spain at baixa de moli; 2 roundabouts down.  Follow parallel to the river, or go down the main Ave. Tarragona road.

  Main international terminal for buses into Andorra.  It is comprised of 2 terminals right next door to each other - one for DirectBus and the other primarily for Novatel, but other companies (with less frequent routes into Spain) also use this terminal too.

  Estació d'Autobusos d'Andorra is Andorra Bus Station - NOTE this old terminal is due for closure soon. Buses will soon arrive and depart from the new terminal which is under construction. This terminal is about 500 metres further out of La Vella in the direction of Spain.

  Buses from Spain and France arrive and depart from here.  There are the primary routes to Barcelona, Barcelona Airport, Girona Airport and Tolouse & Airport.

  There is a small waiting room in each of the Terminals.  Banc Mora ATM at the DirectBus terminal.

  Basically a retail unit with a geek and loads of geeky kit in it. But what fun! David from Zamora in Spain runs this Virtual Reality Experience shop in the downtown area of La Vella.

  Open in the late afternoon until night (ideal for geeks); recommended if you want to experience something a little different. He speaks passable English and it an affable chap.

  €10 per person for the HTC VR game

  The VR game can be played by two people at once; fight zombies or "really" play with a light sabre (you won't believe the feeling when it turns on it your hand).

  The large main car park normally has plenty of space, including several campervan slots unless there is an event hosted in the car park itself. There are 2 or three a year including the circ de Soleil and the Andorra fair.

  Huge lilac monstrosity in the centre of town. Check. Badly planned parking entrance route that blocks up through traffic. Check. Expensive to park in interior car park. Check.

  So it's terrible? Er, actually no - Andorra's only real "shopping mall" is actually a very pleasant experience.  It's not so big, it is very centrally placed, because it's indoor it is something to do on a cold and blustery day, and there are plently of different types of shops and activities inside.

  Some local geography for you.. It is located on the border of Andorra La Vella parish and Escaldes/Engordany parish -  the towns have grown so large over the years that to the visitor it seems like just one town.  

  The importance of this to you is because parking within the Centre and in any of the "blue" coloured parking places is very expensive.  You can parking "over the border" in Andorra La Vella - just 1 minute walk in one of the "Fenners" parking significantly cheaper.  Up to you.  If you buy stuff from the supermarket inside the centre >40 Euros you can get free parking inside for a couple of hours.
