Unfortunately not a good experience on our last visit although we have been to the Church on many occasions. I was very disappointed with the Feta Cheese Bake the potion was ridiculously small by comparison to the other dishes, the barman appeared not to know anything about the beer selection and really didn't appear to be interested in us as customers. The time between courses was exceptionally long. This is such a great shame possibly just a bad night! On the other hand we ate at the Bull's Head, just down the road, and had a fabulous evening last week. The service was excellent and we were kept informed all the time whilst we were waiting for a table. Happy to discuss.

Fantastic pub - really friendly and knowledgeable staff, great beer and good food. In a nutshell, it's restaurant quality food in a proper pub.

Came here totally by accident. Great ambience. Chose to sit inside. Welcoming staff. Little choice in terms of vegetarian dishes but the pea ravioli was really good. they offered to make a grilled version of the haddock which was great. The desserts were well and truly outstanding.. Hope we come back sometime soon.

Nice cosy pub. Previously had a great meal here. However the last time 4 of us ordered the roast beef dinner all asking for either medium or medium rare. The beef was absolutely bloody and rare. The staff were generally good but the lady who dealt with our complaint regarding the rare beef served made out it was impossible to give us medium roast beef. You don't need to be a professional chef to realise this is complete nonsense. All they had to do is cook it longer. Would think twice about coming again.
