        • We had a wonderful afternoon. The staff, the railway engines.the facilities and not forgetting Santa made the Santa Express a magical experience for all of us. Even the presents our grandchildren received were very much appreciated even with an age range from 18 months to 13 years. We very much look forward to repeating the experience when the youngest is a bit older. Many thanks to all the team for putting this on.
        • Used a Groupon voucher for a family of four. Great for young boys, especially those who are into Thomas Tank Engine. At the car park end there is a miniature train that goes in a loop (50p per person). There is also a gift shop with plenty of Thomas Tank Engine stuff. This is also where you pay and get your tickets. Also a large cafe and a park. The train ride is a little over 20 minutes. Not too long that children may get bored. It passes under a large tunnel too which kids enjoyed. At the far end is a small park and cafe. We had an enjoyable 3-4 hours.
        • We visited on a Thomas and friends weekend. It was fantastic, staff were helpful and informative. We had a fantastic time riding the different trains. It's great that there were 2 sites to visit on the train. 2 fantastic play areas for children and on the day we visited they had bouncy castles and donkeys as well. The cafe was warm and offered hot drinks and a lunch menu. There were plenty of toilets and baby change at both sites. Lots of free parking. We spent the whole day here and we had plenty to do. Highly recommended as a family day out if you have little train enthusiasts. We will be back even without the lure of Thomas.
        • Took our children to see Santa on the light railway, I would encourage all families with young children to use this service. Magical from beginning to end.
        • A great day out for all the family. Great value for money ride behind a miniature train through spectacular scenery. Views across the valley including Emley moor, through a tunnel, cuttings, under bridges and over bridges this railway has it all. The large carpark at Clayton West also hosts a little miniature train, gift shop and cafe. It kept our two entertained for hours.
        • If you wish to have a little adventure for you little one, then this is a very good choice. Just choose your day wisely. The trip on a small train is delightful due to superb views. Trains are very well looked after and clean. At the start there is also an electric ride around small hill and pond, playground and train station with a small restaurant. The choice of cooked food is limited and so is the quantity (be quick to order or prepare your own lunch), but it is very tasty. Our kids loved it. The last stop has a lovely small playground overlooking the valley and a small picknick area. Unfortunately there is no restaurant, just a point where you can buy drinks, some sandwiches and sweets. During summer they also have ice-cream on sale. So if you wish to make the most of this place and stay longer, bring your own food. The other downside is price of this adventure. The tickets are not cheap, so it is always worth looking for some discount vouchers from leaflets or website.
        • Great little railway service, fantastic for children. There are play areas at both Clayton West and Shelley stations for the kids whilst you're waiting for the train and cafe facilities - the one at Clayton West is very good and has a lovely gift shop too. A great Thomas the tank engine and friends experience that I would recommend.
        • Visited to check on taking the G'kids ... Looks interesting pleasant knowledgeable staff warm welcome 🤔 Why does the miniature (4-5inch gauge) Railway have to go? It appears to be just as big as an attraction.... Ho well.... So folks visit this year and quickly..
        • Very good value day out, lots to see and do. We did the Easter Eggspress and everything was included in the ticket price except for the food. Well done to all involved.
        • This is a good day out for the family. There's not much to do though other than ride on narrow gauge trains and a play area for the kids at both stations. Plenty of parking space and the whole of the attraction is wheelchair friendly. Trains are every 40 minutes and a journey to Shelley is 3 & half miles . Shelley is the smallest of the stations which has a cafe, some garden games such as connect 4 a play area and also had a bouncy castle. There were only 2 trains running during my visit. A diesel train and a steam train. There was also one with the engine running outside the engine shed while I was there but it didn't go out on the line. As a photographer, I would have liked to have been able to access the other trains to photograph. Apparently there's a lot more running during steam and diesel galas , so I might have to visit one of them events. The food was nice at Clayton West station. There's also a Party train that you have to book if you're thinking of having your child's birthday party there. There's also a miniature train that you pay 50 pence for passenger rides to go around the track twice.
        • Been spending a lot of time here lately with my little boy instead of going to the usual play gym. As my little boy is 2 he is free so I decided to buy a season ticket and have saved loads. The place is great with plenty to do at both ends of track. The playgrounds are fantastic with lots of places to picnic. Well stocked reasonably priced gift shop and cafe too.
        • Visited with my family. Had a very enjoyable day. The train ride passes through some beautiful scenery. The open carriage is the best. Bits to do at Shelly station, little shop, sandpit & play area for the kids. However we enjoyed the Clayton West side more. Lovely large tea room selling sandwich, ice cream & hot & cold drinks. A little train which took us for a ride (cost 50p) for 2 laps around the pond. A new play area also more fun for the kids. Would highly recommend for families with young kids.
        • New fantastic playground is worth the visit alone. But there's a mini train for 50p a go. Steam train ride up to Shelley. Lovely cafe and gift shop. Picnic tables. FREE PARKING.
        • An Amazing place to see little trains and how steam works on trains. Can pay to go on the train Affordable price. Toilets and cafe is on offer. Brilliant place for days out or as a family. Car park free and recommend anyone
