        • Plenty of seating available, decent range of shops and eating options from restaurants to sandwich deals, usually quick and helpful security. Modern check in procedures for domestic uk flights. Plenty of directional and flight information signage throughout terminal buildings. Decent shuttle service between terminals. Can be busy at times.
        • Today it was really a bad experience with Ukrainian Airline and Gatwick airport! Flight PS 0012 was scheduled for 12.20 of 21/12/2016. After boarding, we all waited inside airplane over 4h due to technical problem. Apparently, Gatwick airport preferred to keep us inside the plane instead of waiting in the terminal. At about 4pm, we were allowed to go back to the departure terminal. I get told flight should be at 22,00 or 23,00. However, we need to wait in the departure terminal, an announcement will be done and to look at the flights table updates. Flights timetable at 17.47 is saying “Gate info at 22.10” and sometimes “Next Info at 23,00” After 22.10, table keeps saying, NEXT INFO at 23,00 At 22.55 only few people were in the Terminal and 2 employees of Gatwick Airport asked why I was there… Apparently everyone was sent to the Hilton Hotel at 20,00 and at 3,00am we need to check-in to take the flight at 5,00am WHY THE INFORMATION PANEL was still saying “GATE INFO At 22.10” and “NEXT INFO 23,00” if was already 3h majority of passengers were sent to the hotel??? I don’t accept the comment of one Airport employee saying” at 20,00 I should have asked to the information desk” !!!! if you ask to the information desk, people complains saying to be patient and to look at the information display. If you look at the information Display, they don’t update it !!!! if a flight is not going to happen, I expect the airline or the terminal to update the public information! Again a demonstration if you are a patience customer, customer service could not care less about you! If you are a customer who complains and shouts constantly , customer service won’t let you down !!! Again at 23.00 I get told to go the hotel to have dinner and to use my room. However Hotel restaurant hotel closed at 22.30. Again, if you kick the desk of the check-in, you get what you want, if you are decent person and you don’t complain with the first person in front of you, you get nothing. Update the flights timetable costs nothing and it is the most basic way to update flight information. Ukranian airline knew how many passengers were on the plane and how many went to the hotel, someone was still missing! And any decent airport should update flight information on the display because people get spread around the terminal!
        • A truly horrible experience. The primary aim of the owners seems to be extracting as much cash as possible from passengers. Surely it should be to get us through the airport quickly, safely and efficiently. We were directed through shops at every opportunity even to the extent of making us take longer routes to do so. Very poor customer experience Gatwick.
        • What can I say, smelly toilets in arrivals at South Terminal despite a toilet attendant. Hard to find North Terminal due to bad signage and have to ask directions. Lady checking us in was friendly however BAGS LOST!! When we queried the status we were told they "Just didn't get sent" 2 days in Austria now and no bags still. The onus is also on British Airways. However, the airport staff are responsible for the bags going awry. We were not alone and another families bags were also not sent to the location. The departure area in North terminal was nice and modern, but give me a kip of a departure area and allow my bags arrive when I get off the plane.
        • took a early flight out came back late, very good for both. stayed in the premier inn for a night, very decent. shops after security and very tidy and clean. October 2016
        • Arrived twice in Gatwick twice lately. The boarder control for non-UK/Europe passports is horrendously slow. The first time took one hour, and that was relatively fast. The second time took 2 hours, when we were behind a plane from Africa!!! The BA coordinators were totally incompetent in anticipating the flow and managing the line. They didn't seem to understand that some passports/immigration status takes longer than others to process. They also randomly created two lines where people later in line were able to get through faster. When I pointed out to them we've been waiting forever and it's not fair, they were upset that I talked up and just wanted me to shut up. Trains and tubes don't run that late, so you if you are arriving on Sunday night, you might want to have a contingency plan...
        • Good transport links to central London, although the M25 is a hassle during peak times. The airport itself is good with a range of restaurants, cafes and shops. There are also several hotel options within walking distance of the terminal buildings.
        • This airport is absolutely not over-night friendly. At 9:00pm we arrived and the connecting flights section was closed. I have never been to an airport that forced you to exit through customs because practically everything shut down before it was even 10:00!! The public part of the airport has almost no available seating and is filled with other stranded passengers. It truly is a nightmare of a layover. Then, when international departures finally opens at 3:00 am we discovered that you can only enter the departure lounge (and go through security ) 3 HOURS BEFORE. So the airport strands us instead of letting us through to spend money in the shops. What a horrible excuse for an international airport. We will never use this airport again.
        • Very good airport! Easy to get around, find places etc. Lots of places to eat and shop while waiting for gate to open! Very helpful staff as well that makes the experience better and overall easier! Love Gatwick airport! Been there for the majority of times I have been abroad!
        • I prefer the system of how you obtain your boarding pass, baggage check and help with tagging bags over JFK airport's system. The way of getting through security was faster up until the part where they decided items needed to be held and you'd be questioned if you it was yours then proceed from there. Other than that it's very clean, I didn't get clapped for skating my luggage through, the shops are amazing ( tax free ), money exchange went smoothly and there's a Nando's in the airport.
        • Very impressed by this airport. Clean. Spacious and even has a shower room. Security check staff there is quite friendly and well mannered. Very easy to get there by coach or train. One of the best airport in London.
        • Not family friendly (as marketed) in the slightest. Light years behind other London airports in processing families. In excess of 40 mins through either security or passport control the last 3 times we have travelled with our two girls (1&3 yrs old). Travelling on my own never takes more than 5 minutes for either. Will actively avoid using this Airport in the future.
        • Nice and relatively modern airport. A lot of work has been done to try and improve it. There is a decent range of stores and restaurants but don't expect anything fancy. Staff is usually very nice. They are not great at dealing with snow and it is fairly common to see delay flights here
        • Horrible experience. I arrived 10 minutes after the gates were set to close and they wouldn't let me on even though the gate was still open. Then, they tell me to go talk to the information desk. The information desk guides me around the airport to the customer service where they don't offer any sort of refund or discount. Instead they try to sell me a flight more expensive than one I could book online as there rollover procedure. I talk to the supervisor and she is completely unhelpful. Then the customer service desk team starts laughing at me. Honestly, they can all go to hell. Would not recommend.
        • Expensive parking! Stayed in short stay whilst dropping my son off for his flight to Australia, just over am hour cost £12. Very little option for refreshment but understand once you go through security it us marginally better. Plus side Staff are friendly and helpful.
        • I use Gatwick for most of my flights as it is nearest to where I live. Flights which depart from the airport has increased needing more capacity. However the security checks are pleasant and so does the automated immigration booths. Last time I used the facility the lady officer there seems very unfriendly and robotic. May be the machines having an impact on humans.
        • Security went well but after that the airport has no where near enough space to accommodate for all the passengers and flights. Endless queues at restaurants and cafes, almost all the seating areas were full. Queues at the toilets. And this is meant to be an international airport. There is just not enough room and this is a Wednesday morning at 9am during the winter schedule.... . So not even rush hour. + side security staff was great and helpful and polite.
        • Very relaxed Airport for European flights. Loads of shops and restaurants, free wifi. And easy to reach with the Gatwick express from London Victoria. Very smooth luggage check too for EU flights.
        • Used the valet parking option which makes arriving and leaving so easy, as the drop of and pick up point is in the car park across the road from the terminal. Also used the express security as we were there at a busy time - this meant that we jumped right to the head of the queue. Made it a lot easier and quicker with a little one in tow.
        • This airport always works well for me. Getting from the station to the gate lounge always seems quick. There's a reasonable range of cafes. The toilets when you arrive accomodate luggage well. And the shuttle to the north terminal is quick and frequent.
        • One of the best airports I've been lately (I travel quite a lot). Really quick immigration lines, with lots of passport scanners and assistants that make the lines go quicker. Security check very efficiently, with a very innovative tray system.
        • This is a great airport located a few miles from Central London. It's easily accessed from the M23 motorway so has great access to the A23 which leads to Brighton and good access to the M25, the London Orbital Motorway. Check-in is super quick, as well as security. Staff are very helpful and there is a short and long stay car park, which is very cheap considering the size of the car park: £15 !!! It's a large airport with two terminals so easy to get lost in but is signposted very well.
        • Good airport with decent food options. Lots of seating available. Passport control was really quick as my queue was rather short - officials were friendly. There are two main terminals - North & South, so just be aware of which terminal your flight is from as the terminals are not very close to each other.
        • Facilities are okay. Nothing outstanding. Very poor service from customs. Got delayed in Hungary and missed connecting flight at Heathrow. Despite my explaining of the situation these idiots threatened me with deportation. Oh and lose my S-pen from my note 5 while examining my eticket on the phone. Not flying into this hostile hole again. NOPE.
        • A good airport to travel to. Clean with friendly staff and a good shopping area nothing to grumble about on that front. The signage could be better as we struggled to find the meeting point for our driver which was down a level. Apart from that a nice airport.
        • A good airport but security can get very busy. Travelling through it had 30 Border Control desks but only 5 open. Took over 15 minutes to get through. Apart from that a lovely airport experience!
        • The north terminal is fantastic. Easy and fast departure. The south terminal is a wast of space. Very anti smoking. Why does it take so long in both terminals to arrive back into the uk. You have to walk miles to passport control and the queue is absolutely ridiculous, it took me 50 minutes and that's with the new passport. If I had a car I would use another airport.
        • It's a nice airport. Has good food options. The transport to Central London is good enough to me, arriving at Victoria Station, a beautiful and classic train station. The trip is very beautiful also.
        • Nice airport offering straightforward and clear directions. I particularly enjoyed the central location of all the restaurants and shops when you are departing. People can wait for their flights there while grabbing a snack or doing some shopping. I am not giving them 5 stars because both times I travelled through this airport the flights (gates) were announced too close to the actual departure time, which made people rush to the boarding gate. Also, get ready to wait 40-60 minutes when you land and have to go through customs, a lot of passengers.
        • Large busy airport. Good selection of services. Easy to navigate with good signage. Toilets clean and modern. Only downside is the sheer bulk of people being moved through the airport, through security & border control - although it's tiresome to queue the staff manage to keep everyone moving along reasonably quickly.
        • What an amazing airport, the staff always helpful a brilliant environment. Enough seating, nice restaurants. Access to information is very easy. Amazing facilities throughout the airport. Can't rate any higher
        • This is a great airport located just outside of London!✈️ Both of the terminals are filled with great shops, as well as places to eat and to wait for your flight. The staff here are so helpful, and going through security is quick and easy. Overall, this is your average International Airport!😌
        • Best of all london airports. Enough staff to make the bottlenecks like security flow properly. Easy to navigate. Good transport links over and above the expensive express option. Good facilities.
        • Excellent self service check-in service, easy to navigate, comfortable seats, and an express train to London at its doorstep. After security, there is a place to fill up your water bottle as well, provided that you empty it beforehand. Security itself is variable, though most of the time it's quick and easy. I guess it's easy to say why I always fly out of here!
        • Very good. Interchange and. Metrobus company having bus stops. On main roads It is. Very dangerous for bus drivers when they. Pull into the road and. This. Very busy with. Traffic at high speed. Coming. Down. The road All buses should. Use north. Terminal. Bus. Station and. It safer. Here
        • Security by plastic bag, wow have never been to a airport that was so annoying with their security scans. Also smells like urine and hamburgers for some reason. The only good thing is the London Bar good cocktails at a ridiculous airport price... But still delicious and you may need one after security.
        • Traveling can be quite hectic (for many) and some airports are not making it easier. Good to know that Gatwick is not one of these airports. This one is well organised. Big enough to spread the crowd so you will find a seat. Various amenities for the travellers. Just like with other airports sometimes you have to walk a lot to get to your gate.
        • A large airport so should be expected to be busy for people and motorists, but still run very sharply. A good variety of shops for restaurants and others for your holiday needs. Easy to navigate around to find your departure gate, toilets and other needs. Large amount of parking for those looking to pick up those from arrivals.
        • Reasonable apart from the bag checking, long wait and more bags get checked then not. I had my hair product go through 30 odd different airports with put getting pulled up but here it needed to be in a bag and inspected. Took half and hour to get through the scanner
        • Good selection of long term car parks, with easy bus links to the terminals. Hectic inside the terminal, but easy to find my way around. Plenty of food outlets.
        • Going through security at Gatwick is faster than any major American airport I've ever been to. Lots of dining options, although the central terminal area is undergoing renovations and is a bit dingy. Probably the best airport serving London in terms of convenience and speed.
        • This is one of the main airports in London and my favourite after Heathrow. It is well connected to the centre of the town and the train between the north and the south terminal works very well. All facilities you would expect from an airport are there and the staff tends to be nice and helpful despite the huge amount of passengers they have to serve.
        • Hassle-free entrance and security, lots of amenities throughout the place, shuttle service for inter-terminal travel, very convenient. Really appreciate how great the airport is. Smoking area is just a 1x1m (maybe less) space outside the airport or on the top floors of the terminals. Can't use them once you pass security.
        • Very good airport. There is nothing to complain about. The staff was helpful, the food was descent, however the washrooms are no the cleanest. Customs went by very fast despite the long line. Although the airports nice and small, I would still recommend it!
        • Toilets dirty, water fountain didn’t work. Good to see more space for waiting. Satisfactory selection of food. Improvement: don’t announce calls to flights to Morocco or Milan in gate waiting rooms for flights to Bologna. Confuses people. Staff nice and friendly.
        • Easy.. Plenty of shops to browse in. Toilets 🚻 nice a clean. Think the food is a bit expensive though. Would be nice to have more seating, Remember to leave enough room in your hand luggage incase you end up buying loads of duty free goodies 😁
        • Gatwick is my favourite of the London airports. It has a enough shops, restaurants and everything you need, but is small enough for customs and check in to be quick. Regular trains to many destinations around the south.
        • Two hours of free parking in the long stay car park is very helpful! Number plate recondition on exit also means you don't need to find a machine before you leave. Shuttle buses to the terminal are frequent and stops are conveniently placed in the long stay car parks. Nice one Gatwick!
        • excellent airport. I've been here loads of times. security is usually fast. departures lounge has good range of shops, restaurants and cafes.
        • After it’s refit a few years ago it was great, the toilets were so posh it was unreal but now everything is worn and it doesn’t look as pleasant, that part wasn’t maintained anyway. It has clear signs everywhere and good shops. At one point I think anyone would get lost in there as it is a very big place.
        • It's not a bad airport at all but sometimes is chaotic with no apparent reasons. Restaurants selection is variegated enough for s medium size airport, as well as prices. There are also only-drink-bars if that's your thing, and of course plenty of clothing shops. The bookstores are keeping mostly the it selling titles, so if you're looking for something particular you won't find it. Security check is similar to other airport I'd say average, annoying when they do a random check and you need to open your bag, totally useless but seems to bring assurance to non-frequent flyers. Enjoy!
        • When flying out, the airport isn't bad - meets the basic requirements. However, for anyone flying in who has to go through customs, I highly suggest you find another airport. Between the wait and the aggressive staff, it's hard to justify picking Gatwick over any of the other London airports even if you're saving a bit of money.
        • I travel from here quite often and have used both terminals a lot. The shopping here is excellent, I love it. I always try and leave a lot of time for security because it always takes longer that you think. The people at security have always been fairly friendly. There are lots of nice places to eat and drink and buy food for travelling with. There are loads of loos. A good airport.
        • Gatwick is a well laid out airport, with lots of restaurants and shops to choose from when waiting for your flight. And odds are you'll be waiting a while. Everytime I've used this airport the flights been over an hour delayed, it's probably because of the great predictable British weather but it's still a pain. The shops are good and well laid out but overpriced, like you'd expect from a airport. The facilities are always being closed for cleaning and the airport seems rather clean and tidy. The staff are helpful and can make you feel at ease if you're a very nervous flyer like myself.
        • Although the airport was efficient and easy to navigate our experience was ruined by the inappropriately rude manner of some of the security staff. They were shouting at passengers and made no attempt to smile or be polite. There was a shortage of trays which they seemed to think was our fault. We all understand the need for security but courtesy costs nothing and not everyone has been through the process before. Clearly some staff were not aware of this.
        • This airport is a well laid out airport, with lots of restaurants and shops to choose from. there are two terminals in this airport, North and South. they are really close to each other just 2 minutes by free small train between the two. The shops are good and well laid out but overpriced, like the once you'd expected from any airport. The facilities are always open and the airport seems rather clean and tidy. The staff are helpful and always make it easy for you.
        • Starting with the good - staff were amazing. Smiled, were friendly and attentive. Have no qualms there. However, for anyone flying in who has to go through customs be prepared to give up more than 2 hours of your life.
        • This is a really nice airport with brilliant facilities and lots to do while waiting for your flight, such as spectacular restaurants and comfortable waiting seats. This airport is very good. I like this airport. The gates aren't very far from the main terminal area. However, the shuttle from the north terminal to the south terminal can get very very crowded, as there was no room to breathe. The whole carriage smelled really bad too. Overall, a great airport.
        • Not a bad airport as far as airports go. Small enough that it’s easy to get around and catch your next flight, but big enough to have plenty of restaurants and amenities. I’ve been here for long layovers before and it’s been comfortable. There’s plenty of seating, stuff to eat, and coffee.
        • I use Gatwick occasionally and the security is very fast. They have things dialed right down. The airport is oddly laid out and it was hard to find the charging station even after getting directions. It was a disappointing station with 4 outlets, no USB or convection chargers. Very old fashioned. The quiet zone is right next to Boots store so how is that quiet? Lastly, no water filling stations. Not really on board with getting rid of plastic bottles.
        • I had requested assistance on my recent visit to Gatwick Airport and was very impressed by the excellent service provided by everyone I met.The gentleman in the reception office was polite and helpful. The person who took me to the Check in area was professional and the transfer to and onto the Aircraft showed care and appreciation of a persons needs. This experience was repeated on my return to the UK. Well done Gatwick
        • Gatwick has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Security is a joke though. I have no problems going through security at airports but the staff are so rude. I have never been stopped at an airport before despite traveling often. They wanted to check my bag but okay no problem! However when you are ripping everything out of a carefully packed bag have some respect. Be careful with my camera. Just be respectful it's not hard. When I asked why it was stopped they said the liquids bag was under my jacket?? So just put it on top of my jacket and re scan it? The queue of people waiting to have their bags expected is huge and the staff are just hanging out with no sense of time or the back log they are causing to security. Just be polite, apologise for any delays you have cause and respect people's belongings.
        • Not as pretty as Vancouver International Airport but easier to navigate. Upon arrival, the customs line was insane. I got in line and expected a 2-hour ordeal. It only took 20 minutes tops. Very efficient. Then the trains are located right under the south terminal, making it easy to get to where you need to go. Good selection of shops and duty free.
        • Staff at this airport are one of the best. Always so helpful and understanding. Makes such a difference to a trip especially if things have been stressful getting there. I've always been put at ease here. Thanks ❤️
        • Used South Terminal for my flight. Busy terminal but everything ran smoothly. Happy to recommend. Nice airport with friendly staff. All except my check in man who was so grumpy he should reconsider his job choice.
