    Laurel, Maryland is located along the banks of the Patuxent River between Washington D.C. and Baltimore Maryland in Prince Georges County, one of twenty three counties in Maryland.
    Laurel was first settled in the early 1800's as a cotton mill town. The town was incorporated in 1870 and reincorporated in 1890 to coincide with a new electric power plant and paved streets.
