One of the best hotels in the district! Located in a residential block of Foggy Bottom, so it is very quiet and makes you feel like a DC resident. Rooms are very large with kitchenettes. Perfect for business and leisure travelers alike. The staff is so friendly and helpful, if you need any directions or recommendations the front desk team is there for you. There is a restaurant in the hotel and it is wonderful and open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, except for Sundays it is only open for breakfast. The location is perfect as you are just a 15-20 minute stroll to the monuments, 10 minutes walk to Georgetown and M Street, and just a very short walk to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station. George Washington University is just a couple blocks away, so it is the perfect hotel for parents and friends visiting students. You will just be a short walk from the Kennedy Center so it is an excellent choice if you are coming in town for a show. Trust me once you stay here you will continue to return.

The River Inn has arguably the best food in the DC area. Ask for Keith, he will take care of you from dinner suggestions to wines that pair well. You can feel his passion for this place and the food/wine. The food is fabtasric, the ambiance is incredible (casual meets formal), prices and portions are more than fair, and the service is second to none. Thank you so much River Inn for such a great evening!

Very accommodating rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel, too. Completely satisfied, wish i could have stayed longer!

The River Hotel is very hip. Keith the restaurant manager is so knowledgeable about wines...he gives an outstanding experience for a wine sort of connoisseur such as I think I am. The food is also good! Simple small cozy place!

The perfect spot to experience DC. Their bikes saved our whole vacation. My husband tore some tissue in his hip and it hurt to walk. Somehow riding the bikes was much easier on him. Every person on staff was super friendly and very helpful. We will definitely stay here the next time we come back.
