      • While the King's House Hotel is closed, you can stay in the temporary 'The Way Inn' an ecolodge style bunkhouse right next to the Hotel. The lodge emits zero CO2 and has been built up to today's standards. For instance, it has USB plugs near the bed-ends. There is also a canteen where the food is good and not as expensive as in other Inns in the Scottish Highlands. I paid 7 or 8 £ for a tasty venison burger. Staff are friendly. The only downside I found is the banging of the doors at night. The doors have been overbuilt to withstand heavy usage but something should be done about the noise.
      • The Kings House hotel is closed for renovations however there is a cafe open at the rear. This would be difficult to find as it was poorly signed. Cafe was lovely and cosy after a trip up to Glencoe mountain resort.
      • camped at the back of the Hotel. Did use the actual hotel. great place for wild camping
      • The hotel is actually shut down but it still has a small cafe and toilet to use. You can feed deer here. They hang about at the trees just outside. remember to take loaded of apples for them.
      • A warm, cosy restaurant (and hotel) on the edge of Rannoch Moor. Very friendly toward hikers.

      • Cosy bar!
In 2015 we hiked the West Highland Way and Kingshouse hotel is located alongside the trail. We had no intentions of spending the night here but since the weather was terrible we decided to wait it out and have lunch. The climber’s bar is a cosy little place on the backside and serves great food. As a climber myself, I liked the atmosphere, and if the rain wouldn’t be pouring that day, we would have definitely spend the night on the wildcamping area near the hotel.
