A must for Harry Potter fans! But even those who don't care at all about HP can appreciate this lovely old train and a very scenic ride. The highlight is definitely riding over the Glenfinnen Viaduct and the amazing pictures you can get. It would have been better if there was a bit more of a guide to go with it.

They sell a carriage worth of tickets on the day about 1 to 2 hours before departure. Trip is good. Sit on the left side for better views.

Absolutely an incredible experience! Whether you have an appreciation for steam engines or not, the experience is awesome. We booked the Standard Class and it was nice. All the workers on the train from the Engineers to the Catering Staff were very polite and accommodating. Definitely recommend buying some fish and chips at The Tea Garden in Mallaig! Great fish and chips without the heavy belly after. Following the meal and pint(s) be sure to stop by the local RNLI Lifeboats Station around the corner and help support the Lifeboats! Great trip all around and enjoy!

It was a great experience taking old steam train from one town to other town with lots of great scenes along the way.

The train they used for the Harry Potter movies! Be sure to stand near the windows just before they go over the aqueduct for a great view and picture. Was a fantastic day trip!

The Jacobite steamtrain going from Fort William to Mallaig is probably best known as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter movies. However, this train journey is regarded as one of the most scenic in the world. You will travel through the Scottish Highlands and the highlight is, without doubt, the Glenfinnan Viaduct. It’s not only a great journey if you have kids or are a Harry Potter fan. If you plan to take this journey, you can buy tickets at the Fort William train station, but it is recommended to book your seats in advance online, since they do sell out quickly. It’s a great experience, and it would be a shame not to be able to do it.
