  Abu Dhabi is the federal capital centre of the United Arab Emirates and among the most modern cities in the world. The city is a T-shaped island on the Persian Gulf. A lot of investments have been made in the domains of economy, culture and environmental conservation. 50 years ago, the city was a mere fishing village with a fort, a few barasti huts and coral buildings. The city is characterized by futuristic buildings and several state-of-the-art tourist hotels and resorts, attracting tourists from all over the world. Today, Abu Dhabi is a modern city serving as government and business center. The city was designed by Dr Takahashi, a Japanese architect, and was established by Sheikh Zayed.

  With over 145 hotels, tourists have the pleasure of choosing from an array of accommodation facilities ranging from spectacular beach resorts on the great Abu Dhabi’s glittering coastline to stunning islands, hotels and desert tourist hotels.

If you can afford it, though, you’re in for a treat.

  Very remarkable. Designed to represent Arabic architecture. The interior is also fabulous and charming. Definitely worth a visit.

  You should say salaam to shaik zayed before you enter to the mosque

  Exceptional site of both architectural and spiritual beauty, definitely Nr. 1 on must-see list for Abu Dhabi. Agree with other reviewers that the best time to visit is before Maghrib (sunset) prayer, so as allowing to appreciate it both in the daylight and in the night illumination. Excellently organized visiting process: ample and free parking, free-of-charge access, quick but thorough security screening process, convenient option to get at the entry (again free of charge) thobe for men with shorts or abaya for ladies without full cover. On the mosque's grounds there is also a nice coffee shop with both savory and sweet food options (nice place to hang around while waiting for that sunset to arrive), souvenir shop as well as visitors' toilets.
