    • South Beach
South Beach is the section of Miami Beach, Florida that encompasses the southernmost 23 blocks of an island separating the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay.

Today, the South Beach section of Miami Beach is a major entertainment destination with hundreds of nightclubs, restaurants and oceanfront hotels. The large number of European tourists explains South Beach's tolerance of topless sunbathing, despite being a public beach. Another unique aesthetic attribute of South Beach is the several colorful and unique lifeguard stands, still used today by South Beach's lifeguards.

South Beach has a very active club and bar scene. It is host to over 150 clubs and other destinations, most of which close at 5 am. South Beach can be expensive, and access to nightclubs is often difficult for non-locals who do not have connections, or do not plan their evenings in advance. Access to the more popular nightspots can cost anywhere from $20-60 for entry (depending on event and venue) and sometimes comes with a wait of several hours, in addition to evaluation by door staff.

Nightlife in South Beach is dynamic and ever-changing, although some watering holes like The Clevelander and Mac's Club Deuce have remained steadfast tourist destinations on Ocean Drive for well over a decade. Clubs constantly change decor, name, and owner, so it is difficult to state at any given time which clubs are popular.

    • Miami Beach
Technically a barrier island connected to the mainland by a series of bridges, Miami Beach is nevertheless a city all by itself. It has stood as one of the premier beach resorts in the United States for nearly a century, and between its Art Deco buildings, its world-famous nightclubs, its Latin American culture, and the sun and sand, it is extremely easy to see why this is such a favorite place for so many. However, keep in mind that the very nature of Miami Beach screams premier and exclusive, so the rates can be somewhat shocking during the peak winter months. This is definitely not a budget destination, although if you head there in the low season when tourism has dropped off the rates are significantly lower, and in the current economical times you can find better deals than in the past.

Probably the most popular and well-known part of Miami Beach is South Beach, which is an area known to millions for its prominence in movies and books over the years. It is fun-in-the-sun year-round, which is one of the main reasons that it has remained so popular, giving people access to the beaches no matter the season. But beyond the beach itself you can explore the various surfing opportunities, head out onto the water for some snorkeling, or you can take one of the guided nature tours that include kayaking and snorkeling, as well as canoe trips up some of the mangrove creeks.

There are also several guided bike tours for people looking to cycle their way around the island, or you can hoof it on foot. Miami Beach is also one of the few places in the United States that offers visitors access to nude beaches, although they are private in nature so you won’t be able to gawk unless you are man (or woman!) enough to bare it all with the rest of the people.

    • Pompano Beach
Located in the heart of Florida's Gold Coast the City of Pompano Beach is the year round home to 104,402 residents. During season (September through March) the number swells to nearly 150,000 as part-time residents from more inclement environments join us for "fun in the sun". As the name implies (Pompano - a species of in-shore -tropical game fish) the fun includes some of the world's best sport fishing.

Golfers find living or vacationing in Pompano Beach a dream come true, with some of the world's most beautiful and challenging links just a short drive away. It is said that a golfer could play a different course every day and still not tee off on all the links within 30 minutes of Pompano Beach. If your "fun" is spectator oriented, our City offers horse racing at the world famous Pompano Harness Track. If you are a team sports fan, then Pompano Beach is the place to be. Baseball fans have it both ways with the Florida Marlins calling nearby Pro Player Stadium. Football fans can watch the Miami Dolphins host the NFL's best, while if you like to do your spectating in-doors, hockey and basketball fans are only minutes from the home arenas of the Miami Heat and Florida Panthers.

For a more laid-back approach. Pompano Beach, as the name implies, offers miles of beautiful beach, lapped by the warm waters of the Gulf Stream. Here you can kick back watch the surf, watch the people, or look for the Goodyear blimp that calls Pompano Beach its home.

      • This hotel is amazing! I would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Seattle. Its in a great location! Its small, which makes it so homey!! The rooftop balcony had wonderful views. We were able to walk to many restaurant's and bars. We even walked to the stadium and back.
      • Pros: 1. Friendly owners and staff. 2. Good location. Easy to find. Cons: 1. The place is starting to look dirty and old/run down. It needs a thorough cleaning, a fresh coat of paint, and flat screen TVs in the rooms. 2. The "Free Breakfast" consists of oatmeal cream pies, Fruit Loops cereal, and the cheapest coffee they could find. No fruit. No bread of any kind. 3. It's overpriced based on the overall experience. The bottom line is that you can have a better experience at another Inn/Motel just up the street for less money.
      • The manager is as incompetent as his staff. This people will over book then try to send you to the other roach motels they own. Do not book here. Doug is the worst. And just because they ask for your phone number doesn't mean they'll use it if something comes up. Ijs Pay good money to stay at a good hotel or stay home. I tried it to save but came to my senses. U will think you have a room available but the will give it away trust me.
      • Not sure where to start with this gem. Deceiving isn't even the word to describe this no tell motel. Don't let the image of the beautiful new Hampton Hotel in the back ground fool you, it's the crappy motel In front of it you will be resting your had at if you choose the midtown. Let's start from the beginning, as we were turning into the lot upon arrival the first thing to catch my eye was the 200 pound prostitute with her ass hanging out of her shorts looking for business in front of the lobby. Although my wife and I should have taken that as a sign, we still decided to give it a shot. Upon first glance the building is notably run down. The pool sits directly in the middle of the parking lot, is a bit smaller than a standard hottub, and was over taken by nude children and full swim diapers. The reception area is less than clean or updated but does have a friendly staff who promptly gets you a key for your overpriced palace. The room is decent size and houses a $15 resale shop TV with about 4 cable channels, a bathroom less accommodating than a standard rest stop, and some 20 year old furniture most of which was stained and broken. The bed is large and was filled with a number of long hairs that are a good indication of how often its washed. Road noise is at a premium through the night along with overhead planes that sound like they may land in the lot roughly every 8 min. But to avoid sounding negative, the room does include a fridge, microwave, and 5 deadbolt locks on the door for security. The stick in the window to minimize break ins was also a nice touch. Most plugs don't work and the faucet squeaks and operates poorly. The decor was mainly a list of crooked lamp shades that looked like they had recently been used in self defense. Rest here was minimal and cleanliness non exhistant. But don't forget to grab a continental breakfast on the way out which includes a bowl of fruit loops and the day old donuts from the gas station across the street. Do yourself a favor and don't try to save $50 by staying here. Spring for the Hampton next door. You won't regret it.
      • Very expensive for what it is... Things not really clean. At least it is close to downtown.
