CarlsbadCarlsbad is a beautiful, mellow beachside community with many wonderful things to offer. It is a good place for those who are looking for a more relaxing beach trip, but yet want to be close enough to San Diego to go and enjoy all that it has to offer as well.
Places of interest in Carlsbad include the Carlsbad Village area, the Flower Fields (seasonal...visit in the Spring), and of course, the beautiful coastline. Carlsbad is a very bicycle-friendly community, with bike lanes all over the city, so make sure to bring your bike or rent one from one of the many places around town to rent a bicycle and pedal around to explore the city!
Park at Tamarack Beach and walk the seaside beach path sidewalk, which will take you about 1.5 miles if you walk from one side all the way to the end and back.

La JollaLa Jolla is a beautiful coastal community in San Diego County. It is known as an upscale, rather expensive community to live in, and is popular with tourists. The population was 46,781 as of 2010 and La Jolla is home to the University of California San Diego (UCSD).
It is just a short drive from the excitement of downtown San Diego, so it is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for all the convenience of being in San Diego, but wanting to stay in a mellower location.
A few highlights are La Jolla Cove, a great place to go swimming or snorkeling. Also check out Torrey Pines state reserve for some hiking with spectacular ocean views. The Village has many shops and restaurants, and the Torrey Pines Golf Course is a world class, beautiful golf course that has been featured on the PGA tour. The second largest city in California and the ninth largest in the entire US, San Diego is a melting pot of agriculture, tourism, telecommunications, ship-building, and more. Home to the world-renowned San Diego Zoo and the Pacific Fleet of the US Navy, the city somehow manages to maintains a calm, laid-back approach that makes it one of the best places to experience Southern California away from the hustle and bustle that is Los Angeles. The city is packed with sights and sounds, from the harbors, the Gaslamp District, the beaches, the parks, Sea World, Wild Animal Park, the Point Loma Lighthouse, the various Spanish buildings preserved in Old Town, to the various sports teams like the Padres or Chargers, and you will find it impossible to pack it all into just one trip.
San Diego is a major hub of technology and defense contractors for the US. There are five major military bases within 50 miles of the city, so the entire telecommunications and defense industry is a major draw on the economy here. In addition there are various biotechnology firms in the area, and plenty of video game companies. The food is as diverse as anywhere in the world, and is totally dependent on what part of the city you are in, with a major influence being Mexican. In fact, San Diego is right across the border from Tijuana, which is one of the most visited Mexican cities by American citizens due to its location right across the border.
Outside of the tech and defense industries the most popular thing to do in San Diego is surf, sail, or just laze on the beach. There are literally miles upon miles upon miles of beaches, ranging from beach towns like Ocean Beach to La Jolla to places like Imperial Beach or Coronado, just across the San Diego Bay. But, is also access to the Cuyamaca Mountains, the Cleveland National Forest, or Laguna Mountains, so it really depends on what you want to experience when you come to the city.San Diego, CA, USA -

My fiance and I fell in love with this rustic humble beach escape a few years back and now we are preparing to celebrate our wedding day at LBI this summer! Absolutely the best inn I have ever stayed in. Price, location, comfort-all A+, no complaints whatsoever. I was having a hard time finding a decent place near the ocean with my little one. I'm glad I chose this place for many reasons..Courteous staff led me to my cozy room, parking right outside your door, Wifi, ceramic tile floor, fresh smelling & soft linens and towels, a/c & heater in working order if needed, kitchenette included stove, Keurig, microwave and toaster oven and even pots, plates and utensils! Food market located two seconds away with many fresh and organic choices. Its conveniently near the ocean, many choices of food nearby within walking distance. Nothing is too far if you needed to drive to get something. I could have lived there. Will return again!
