  Carlsbad is a beautiful, mellow beachside community with many wonderful things to offer. It is a good place for those who are looking for a more relaxing beach trip, but yet want to be close enough to San Diego to go and enjoy all that it has to offer as well.
  
  Places of interest in Carlsbad include the Carlsbad Village area, the Flower Fields (seasonal...visit in the Spring), and of course, the beautiful coastline. Carlsbad is a very bicycle-friendly community, with bike lanes all over the city, so make sure to bring your bike or rent one from one of the many places around town to rent a bicycle and pedal around to explore the city!
  
  Park at Tamarack Beach and walk the seaside beach path sidewalk, which will take you about 1.5 miles if you walk from one side all the way to the end and back.
  
  The Carlsbad Outlet Mall provides a nice shopping experience as well. Also known for its Legoland amusement park for children.

• La Jolla

  La Jolla is a beautiful coastal community in San Diego County. It is known as an upscale, rather expensive community to live in, and is popular with tourists. The population was 46,781 as of 2010 and La Jolla is home to the University of California San Diego (UCSD).
  
  It is just a short drive from the excitement of downtown San Diego, so it is a perfect place to stay if you are looking for all the convenience of being in San Diego, but wanting to stay in a mellower location.
  
  A few highlights are La Jolla Cove, a great place to go swimming or snorkeling. Also check out Torrey Pines state reserve for some hiking with spectacular ocean views. The Village has many shops and restaurants, and the Torrey Pines Golf Course is a world class, beautiful golf course that has been featured on the PGA tour. This golf course is very expensive but worth it if you are a golf enthusiast.

• Temecula

  Less than 2 decades ago Temecula was a rural town just obtaining it's official cityhood; nowadays it has a thriving population of nearly 100,000 people. The city is rich with history, with it's first traces of settlers dating back to 1797. Historical landmarks, pictures, and preserved buildings are dotted throughout the Temecula valley.
  
  Nature seekers are able to find peaceful solace in the nearby Santa Rosa Plateau, which affords hiking and access to local wildlife. Temecula's "wine country" contains several wineries which are open to the public for wine tasting and lunch, while hot-air balloons fill the morning sky. Several annual events such as the Balloon and Wine Festival, Hot Rod Run, and Tractor Races draw thousands of visitors, as well as locals, each year.
  
  Although a rapidly growing city, Temecula still maintains its focus as a safe, family-oriented environment.

  I've been a member at CrossFit 760 since May of 2014. CrossFit can be an intimidating experience, though what you get at CrossFit 760 is the exact opposite. The coaches are welcoming to people of all fitness levels, if you want to get in the best shape of your life, this is the place to do it. This place is a tremendous value, think of it as essentially personal training for up to 6 days per week for one flat rate and the hours are very flexible with multiple classes per day at 2 locations. Your membership also includes access to Olympic lifting classes and some yoga, as well as free custom dietary programming. I spent a lot of years and money going to big box corporate gyms and running on treadmills. I could run a few miles in fairly good time, but never really got stronger. I was lost in the weight section and relied on magazine articles to get my programming. In my first year of membership, I lost 30 pounds, completed a 10 mile race (finishing top 25%), completed a Spartan Race (finished top 25%). More importantly I have made great friends and have a lot of fun working out. I have never felt confused or lost about what I was going to do. I have never felt like I was going to get injured, the coaches are all very good at dialing in the right weight/reps/time for each athlete in the gym. This gym has people from all walks of life that share a similar goal of living healthy. If you want to have a great time, get fit this is the place for you.

  Crossfit 760 is awesome. If I lived anywhere near, this would be my box. Coach CJ & Coach Nick are terrific. The programming rocks. The facility is great. The members are welcoming. Anytime I am in town, I will be dropping in again.

  My office is about a mile from this "box" and I found it online while I was looking for a workout that I could do during a mid-day break from work. I had never tried Crossfit before and was a little intimidated by its reputation, but I went to a class one day to try it out. Everyone was really welcoming, and I like that the workout is different everyday. The coaches focus a lot on form and try hard to make sure no one gets injured. They have a good range of class times and I have definitely gotten stronger and fitter during the year+ that I've been doing it now.

  In early summer of 2011, I timidly walked into my first Crossfit experience and haven't looked back. If you're looking to be challenged and to see what you can achieve mentally and physically, this is a great place to start. This is a gym where you come as you are, no matter the shape you're in; all you need is a willingness to try. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and takes an interest in the well being of their members. There is a great community of people here, very encouraging, never "stuffy" or judgemental.
