    • New Orleans

Fighting off the demons of recent times with a combination of indomitable community spirit and a shared love of local superstar Lil Wayne, New Orleans is fast overcoming the dark days of hurricane Katrina, and returning to the happy times and staunch, fun loving outlook of a city living by the motto "Let the good times roll."

Seen by many as almost as Caribbean as it is American, New Orleans is boisterous and colorful, full of a vivacious energy that seems to soak into the skin from the moment you arrive amongst the funky sounds of the city streets and the succulent tastes of foods fused through the city’s multifaceted cultural influences. It could turn out to be a city of offense or crime easily, dynamic and moderate with abundance in the way of bizarre, rough parties and garish, cocktail-infused, fast ways of life.

And why not? After all, few cities revel in the good times quite as much as New Orleans. New Orleans is one of the few locations in which you can visit for a day or two and make memories that will last forever.

There’s plenty to discover aside from a good-time vibe, too, like the delicate pastel buildings of the French Quarter, with its trams, fusions architecture and shambolic yet seductive old stores and churches. Hop on and off the trams to grab crepes, dine in opulent restaurants like the Carousel Bar, or take a horse and carriage ride through Jackson Square, soaking up the quiet ambience of the manicured gardens and eying the church spires piercing the skyline.

Woldenberg Park at sunset is another alluring and romantic corner of New Orleans, while the City Park Sculpture Garden or a relaxing ride on the top deck of the Steamboat Natchez are not to be sniffed at, either. You’ll find the traces of liberal-era hippiedom in amongst the open space of the city, with the modern art LOVE sign still occupying a small park corner, and sexual direction of absolutely no consequence to liberal locals.

New Orleans is a city unlike any other, steeped in history and passion, and, for all its recent tragedy, still falling happily into the liberal comedy end of the city-destination spectrum. All in all, its freethinking, lively, and more fun that than even the enlightened might expect.

    • Madisonville

As a result of a wealth of shellfish Madisonville was supposed to be the site of the Native American town of Chiconcte. In 1810 for the appreciation of President of the United States James Madison, it was renamed.

Its an essential port giving various products like bricks and different things of the towns along the Tchefuncte to New Orleans in the decades prior to the American Civil War.

In the late twentieth century, the beginning of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway and related roads consistently conveyed Madisonville into the hover of Greater New Orleans.

In 2005, a great part of the town overwhelmed with the Lake Pontchartrain storm flood of Hurricane Katrina. Alongside the lower levels of the fire station, the police headquarters were also demolished by the floodwaters.

Closely where the stream enters Lake Pontchartrain, there is a lighthouse toward the finish of the Tchefuncte River, which was constructed in 1838 and is on the United States National Register of Historic Places. In 1965, the land course to the beacon was annihilated by Hurricane Betsy and since then one can only reach it via boat.

      • The woman answering the phone was completely rude, slurring her words, and completely unprofessional! I only rated them one star JUST SO I COULD WRITE A REVIEW! trash!
      • This is the worst hotel experience of my life!! First of all the staff there were completely unprofessional, rude, and trashy. They were literally the most awful staff I've encountered anywhere!!! When we booked the hotel, we put down four people were staying in one room and when one of us went to the desk to ask for the wifi password, they gave us a nasty ass attitude on seeing more than one person coming out of our car and threatening us they're coming to knock on our door and ask for our ID's. They put us through all that trouble when the damn password was on the wall in the lobby. Don't believe in their free wifi, throughout my entire stay the wifi never worked in my room. only when I sat in the lobby. Besides their rude staff, the room was absolutely disgusting. I don't even know how they are still in business. Everything was rusted and gross. Literally looked like a scene from a horror movie. There were no towels like a normal hotel/motel does and all they had was five face towels. The lighting was awful and one out of the three lights worked. The bathroom was so gross that I had to shower with my eyes closed. Rusty, gross shower head barely even worked and looked like it was about to fall out of the wall!! How is this place even legal??
      • Avoid this hotel. You'll find decent hotels at almost the same price nearby. Super 8 is just opposite side of the road, and thousand times better only for 5/10 more dollars. This has to be the worst hotel experience in my life by miles. I booked them through Hotwire, and reached at 10 pm. Everything in the room was disgustingly dirty and unhealthy. We asked for another room, they didn't have any. We asked for a refund, they asked me to talk to Hotwire. I couldn't get in touch with Hotwire that night, however we moved to another hotel, submitted all the keys at around 10:30 pm. We moved to a new hotel and we have the receipt with me, which I paid with my credit card. Called Hotwire next morning and evening, they got in touch with the hotel manager by the evening, the hotel completely lied and told Hotwire that we stayed there at night and moved out at 1:30 pm. At 1:30 pm I was 200 miles away from New Orleans. I mind not receiving the refund less than I mind being lied to. They are complete liars.
      • Horrible place to stay. At first when I arrived the staff were really friendly. When I saw my room I noticed the bed frames were broken, the sheets had cigarette burns in them, half of the lights did not work, and I did not have a microwave. So I asked staff for a microwave, and she said: " I will let maintenance know, but he is really lazy. You will have to bring your food down here to the office to heat it." I said OK. By day 3, I kept hearing people hollering: "We don't want you here! Go away!" I called staff and she said she would check to see who was saying it. Two minutes later I heard her on the first floor outside say:" We don't want you here! Leave." I thought wtf.... So I only had 1 night left and they will NOT refund anyone for anything. I figured I will just ride it out. A couple hours later I ordered food, and I went outside by the stairs to meet the delivery person. That is when 2 men in the room beside me had their door open and started screaming:" Ugly head! Where a hat!" Multiple times. I told them to F*** off, and I called and reported it. The staff lady said she would let management know. So I met her outside and she took me to the manager. Me and the manager went to the room where the obscenities were screamed. They opened the door and started blurting out "Ugly, ugly." The manager asked why they said that. They swore up and down that they never said that, and played stupid with me. I said I heard you whatever. So then the manager puts his arm on my shoulder and says "wear it on." I said "wtf?, Now you are disrespecting me to?" He lied and said: "No, I said: go on." At this point I am pissed off. I go back to my room, and I heard the staff lady outside hollering "You are going to get beaten up!" So I opened my room door, and she was down stairs, outside, with some other ladies. She then started telling the other ladies:" His head is ugly." I immediately called the office, she answered, and I told her I want a refund. She said:"I will have to ask the manager." So 5 minutes later, I am outside, another staff member hollered:" Come here! The manager wants to speak with you." So I spoke with the manager, and he acted clueless on why I wanted a refund and wanted to leave. So I explained to him that I am not paying to stay in this dump and be disrespected. He still did not seem to understand. So he said:" I am not giving you a refund." I said: "Fine, I will never come back here again." Then I walked out. I do not recommend this hotel for anyone. Stay away from this establishment.
      • You get what you pay for. Bring your own bed clothes, towels, and pillows. Let not forget cleaning supplies.
