    • Columbus
Columbus is a melding of several unique aspects of American cultural and geographical convergences, and could be considered a literal fusion of ideas. The Plains, the Appalachia, the Bible Belt, and the Rust Belt all meet here, centered on a city that sits on the confluence of the Scioto and Olentangy Rivers, and everything combined gives Columbus a unique approach on life that has it designated as one of the major centers for the surrounding area, with a focus on a wide variety of economies ranging from education, retail, technology, energy, logistics, and more.

Columbus is a university town at its heart, so in many ways it could be seen as one of those cities which are literally bursting at the seams with fresh and innovative approaches to the challenges of our future as a species, which is likely why so many different economies exist within the city. From Capital University to Columbus State Community College to DeVry University to Ohio State University and more, there are over half a dozen major schools that call Columbus home, and definitely influence the overall growth and feel of the city. There might not be the hustle and bustle of New York or the chic sleekness of San Francisco, but this is an important cultural hub nonetheless.

There is a lot to experience in Columbus, from various museums and conservatories to places like the Wyandotte Winery or the Wexner Center for the Arts. Columbus is also host to literally dozens of festivals throughout the year, ranging from the All American Quarter Horse Congress to the Columbus Jazz and Rib Fest along the river in July, with around 700,000 people showing up annually. Then there is the Origins International Game Expo, which is up there with E3 and GenCon for getting your fingers into the hottest uber tech and games on the market. All in all, Columbus has much, much more to it than first meets the eye, but the only way to see it is to experience it first-hand.
