The Cliffs of Moher are one of Ireland's top Visitor attractions. The Cliffs are 214m high at the highest point and range for 8 kilometers over the Atlantic Ocean on the western seaboard of County Clare. O'Brien's Tower stands proudly on a headland of the majestic Cliffs. From the Cliffs one can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins, the Maum Turk Mountains in Connemara and Loop Head to the South.

The Cliffs of Moher are home to one of the major colonies of cliff nesting seabirds in Ireland. The area was designated as a Refuge for Fauna in 1988 and as a Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA) under the EU Birds Directive in 1989. Included within the designated site are the cliffs, the cliff-top maritime grassland and heath, and a 200 meter zone of open water, directly in front of the cliffs to protect part of the birds' feeding area. The designation covers 200 hectares and highlights the area's importance for wildlife.

      • Doolin
Doolin is a charming small seaside village on the northwest coast of County Clare. Once a traditional fisihing village it is now a more noted as a center for traditional music and a surfing destination.

Doolin has plenty to offer the traveller. The Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and plenty of scenic walks. It offers a wide range of quality accommodation to suit all budgets, restaurants offer fine foods with local seafood a specialty, and pubs that feature traditional music sessions nightly.

      • Galway
A city that revels in its Gaelic traditions and has long been known as the “City of the Tribes”, Galway is the third largest town in Ireland, and probably the most important city when it comes to visiting West Ireland. This is bohemian Ireland at its finest moment, and between the legendary nightlife with plenty of pubs to crawl and the world-famous Irish brews and whiskey to the beauty of the surrounding countryside, there is no match for what Galway can offer the adventurer coming into her domain. Beyond the food, the brews, and the vibrant entertainment districts of the city itself, West Ireland is known for its exceptional beauty, and Galway is the perfect headquarters for experience the entire region up close and personal.

From the towering spires of the National University of Ireland to walking around the harbor or through Eyre Square, visitors to the city have a wide variety of things to see and do within the city itself. There are several cathedrals and churches, as well as the Galway City Museum, and there are dozens of cultural festivals that happen throughout the summer months. There is also a major theatrical presence in the city, with production teams like the Druid Theater Company—known for its Irish language productions and Gaelic themes—known around the world for their artistic talent.

However, getting out into the countryside is arguably one of the major reasons to come here, and you can either take day trips to places like The Burren,The Cliffs, or Moher, or you can simply rent a car and go further into the surrounding hills and valleys. This is also a great place for cycling and hiking, and with sights like the ocean cliffs and the banks of the River Corrib snaking through the countryside, it’s very easy to find yourself losing a few weeks of time to this delicious little Irish town.

        • Majestic, magnificent creation of mother nature. The walk is very pleasant although some folks try to be a little more adventurous. Do try to stay within the area marked as safe zone for walking. We also did a boat tour to the bottom of the cliffs. A fun day trip from Dublin!
        • Probably the most amazing place I've ever been to and will ever see. You can feel the water mist from the wind and it's just breath taking. Could've spend A LOT more time there but our class was only given an hour. Would be a great place to picnic at and explore the area. There are two different sides you can walk through and it would take some time to see it all.
        • Most famous tourist attraction but it's worth it! Would recommend to visit the Cliffs every year because they change so fast! Visitor Center is made so cool and very informative. Food prices are little but expensive as expected but there's not much for vegetarians. Would recommend to have a lot of time to spend there 3-5 hours. Can hike paths or go to the visitor center
        • The most important tourist attractive place in Ireland... Heavenly place to visit in a lifetime...A right place to view Atlantic ocean, such a wide spread ocean in black...such a scenic view to see tall Cliff, ocean, in a single place😘..l went in a tour bus so i don't have much time to spent..it's like fixed time within that particular time we have to return😔 ..I suggest, people who desire to go there must go by car so that they can spend more time in viewing and clicking pics..😍 spread joy.. cheers
        • The cliffs are lovely with a plethora of good view points. The visitor centre and shops also provide a good balance to the natural wonders of the cliffs. The biggest downfall for us were the crowds. As keen walkers it was very frustrating to have to fight through everyone stopping to take photos. We headed south from the visitor centre and managed to escape most of the crowds by about half way along. It is worth the extra walk. The €6 per person seemed fair for the conservation of the cliffs and upkeep of the centre.

Cliffs of Moher is one of those attractions you have to be fortunate with the weather. Fortunately we spend three days in the area, and managed to get one good weather day. We opted for the coastal walk. A shuttle service dropped us at the start of the walk and costed us 6 euros each. Hiking the coastal walk is one of the best ways to experience the cliffs, but is not for the faint of hearted since some parts of the trail are quite close to the edge. Eventhough the most known part is close to the visitor center, I would recommend doing this hike to anyone who has the time to do so.
