Users Assigned: KazmiBurlington is Vermont's "Queen City". The eclectic mix of students, business professionals, artistic types, families, and musicians make the entire downtown a lively place.
The brick steets of the Church Street Marketplace are lined with cozy shops, restaurants and cafes. On a spring or summer day you find the outdoor seating ares full of people. The Marketplace is in the center of downtown. It is perfect for a romantic dinner, with a many choices to suit any budget or taste. For shoppers there are lots of unique and name brand shops, and also many very small street vendors.
All year long there are many special events and festivals held. The year starts off with First Night, Burlington's New Years celebration. Every major holiday has events in the downtown area. For nighttime fun Main street is dotted with many bars, and a few clubs. There are even a few venues that host live musical acts from all over - Muddy Waters. Performers range from small independent artists, to well a well known household name band.The Lake of Champlain water's edge attaches Burlington city to the Westside. You will find there a wide walkway with move back and forth, aquarium and a lot of parks. Numerous concerts festivals and events are held on the waterfront every year. There is also a ferry crossing to New York state. A little north of downtown, but still in Burlington there are public beaches usually packed full in the summer months.
Burlington truly is a nice place to visit...so don't pass it by!
