      • Cardiff
One of the longest established cities in the U.K, Cardiff has been occupied for at least 2,000 years since the Romans first established a fort on the site of the current Cardiff Castle. For thousands of years it was simply a small little coastal town until the Industrial Revolution saw it go from being just a little dot on the map to a major coal exportation center, which for a time transformed it into one of the most important cities in the world. Today it is the capital of Wales.

It is the primary commercial center for the nation and a major gateway into the small country, seeing more than 12 million tourists pass through its walls every single year. It is a major port city and has seen continued growth even into the 21st century, making it one of the largest cities in Europe as part of the Eurocities network. All in all, Cardiff has a lot of chest-flexing reasons to boast.

Yet for all of that, the city is fairly reserved. It boasts a history that few others can claim, with archeology showing that the area has been populated since nearly 4,000 B.C. Both the Romans and the Normans were here at some point, and the spread of architectural wonders can be seen in such buildings as the Cardiff Castle and the Llandaff Cathedral.

The Castell Coch was built for the 3rd Marquis of Bute, who at one point in time was considered to be the richest man in the entire world, and there are plenty of museums spread throughout the city as well. On top of that, Cardiff serves as a major headquarter for outdoor sports and activities, such as hiking and exploring or heading out into the open water, making this a perfect summer holiday destination for the adventurous soul.

        • This airport is good. It is small so easy to locate but a there is not much to do if you have a long wait ahead. The airport security is undergoing improvement and it is much better already. A lot less stressful to go through. I hope these improvements continue!
        • Parked in the Silver Zone car park. My wife and I had 2 large bags, 1 push chair, 1 car seat, 2 carry on bags and a 3 year old. There are no trolleys here, so struggled 1/4 mile to the bus. Staff not interested in helping. No problem we thought we can get a trolley in the terminal only to find you have to pay?? I mean WTF. Landed on Edinburgh and funnily enough the trolleys at free there...
        • I was surprised at the variety of things on offer here. It is, after all, a smaller airport. Arriving at around 04:00, I wasn't expecting much. But it delivered. You'll find a 24 coffee place in arrivals that's reasonably priced, offers a good selection of sandwiches, snacks and drinks. There's a number of free power outlets nearby, as well as excellent seating options. Additionally, there's a not utterly overpriced WH Smiths. Overall seating is light at 04:00, but I left impressed.
        • This airport is steadily growing with the construction of a new hotel within walking distance and a brand new automated security area, that will seriously speed up and enhance the whole experience. One of the few airports it is a pleasure to fly from. well done BRISTOL AIRPORT
        • Only airport I've ever known in my life which demands money for dropping someone off or meeting them. Much larger London terminals encourage short stay collection and drop-offs - this place has absolutely nowhere to pull over without entering barriers that demand money after (seriously) just sixty seconds. Parking isn't free at airports, I get that, I really do - that's not a problem - but if your passenger is flying you shouldn't have to pay just to let them get out. I didn't even take the car out of gear!
        • Got inside the terminal, through baggage drop off then upstairs to security and through in under 30 minutes. Polite, helpful staff, very efficient. Both terminal extensions make have made such a massive difference and things run a lot smoother. Feels like a big airport!
        • Decent service all round. Very fast, security was simple. Felling thirsty? Here's a P.G tip: if you don't have a clear plastic bag for security, do not buy one!! Grab any bag you can and use it. Once at the check, a security personnel will simply ask you to change the bag, offering one for you free of charge. Slam dunk, drink with milk. Enjoy.
        • A very good regional airport. Clean tidy and well run. Never had a problem.
        • Very easy, from car parking in silver zone, bag check in, security checks to departure. Signs & screen info helped us with ease. Parking little on the expensive side but when you come back to a flat battery & the chap is at the car even before I get back from the hut was brilliant. Also arriving back security checks & screen info on baggage belt was there & soon as we arrived to the belt our bags was there, shops & eating places are good. Very efficient. Good experience. Thanks.
        • So amazed by the rapid change in Bristol... the new security screening area is so much faster! It makes it a pleasure to fly from.
        • Very helpfull staff would recommend Bristol airport to anyone outside of Bristol. Security very quick to get through and friendly. Money very well spent on upgrading the airport, very small duty free and a good choice of shops but not enough.
        • Decent service all round. Very fast, security was simple. However options were a bit lacking if your not into Burger King/MacDonalds Felling thirsty? Here's a P.G tip: if you don't have a clear plastic bag for security, do not buy one!! Grab any bag you can and use it. Once at the check, a security personnel will simply ask you to change the bag, offering one for you free of charge. Slam dunk, drink with milk. Enjoy.
        • It appears that this airport has gone a recent rebuild and I have to say it compares well to any other regional airport I have been to. There are areas that are still in the process of being improved such as the long stay carpark and at 5am in the morning there was no issue finding spaces as we were directed to them. Baggage check in, security and plentiful shops make a decent outward experience. On the way back in passport control and baggage claim equally stress free. It is a shame this airport is not on a motorway but maybe over time the road links will be improved.
        • Has vastly improved in recent years to be a high standard for a regional airport boasting some good routes. Car parking/rental and ease of access is good, plenty of bus links although pricey, clean layout of the airport making a simple process through security etc, suprisingly good facilities inside the airport, little distances to gates. Only issues are; it really is not in Bristol but that is common with most airports favoured by budget airlines where customers are used to a longer onward travel, no smoking areas which are clear outside with none inside and general flight ticket prices are higher here compared to other local airports. Always a pleasure to use however.
        • this is an amazing place to either fly to another airport or to watch planes. there are 3 areas where you can watch planes and at least one for each side of the runway. I recommend this place for anyone from a frequent flyer to a complete newbie, from a professional photographer to someone who just wants to watch planes.
        • Communication between airport staff is shocking. Landed at 9pm on the way to Bath. Asked at information desk where the Air Decker bus to Bath stops, was told across the street at bus stop 2. At the exit from the building a very 'happy to help' girl jumped to assist. Had no clue what Air Decker bus was or where it stops. Found the bus stop 2 (not across the street) myself, it had the right bus name on the board. Some 20 minutes later a random hi-viz vested bus driver comes and tells us to go away because due to refurb the bus stops on the other side of the road in the temporary stop. We point out that the temporary stop says it's for buses A1/A3 (our bus is A4), he argues and tells us to go away. So we do. 5 minutes later the bus arrives at the bus stop 2 we got kicked out of. Seriously people..?? On another note, the bathrooms are nice and clean. The only reason this review has any stars at all...
        • Have flown from this airport so many times now and every experience has been brilliant! Great transfer via bus into town. Such short queues through security - efficient and friendly staff. nice views of countryside from the airport with large glass ceilings. I would highly recommend it!
        • Our outgoing flight was cancelled at short notice due to poor weather, the lady & gentleman at the Menzies desk were very helpful and a bus was arranged to take us to Heathrow where we caught our re-booked flight home. No fuss, just informative and efficient. Good Job.
        • Why oh why are Soho Coffee always unable to serve efficiently at busy times. They have all that space allocated for them but once again customers waiting in a long queue. Airport should monitor their performance.....did they not know it was school half term??
        • Great local airport, with good amenities. There is plenty of parking at reasonable prices and easy access to the terminal. There is a good range of shops and eating outlets and plenty of places to sit, although it does get very busy preflight. I've flown from here countless times now and have always had a good experience.

        Capacity Category

        • Next time you fly from Bristol Airport, pay attention
Bristol Airport is a commercial airport which serves, as the name suggests, the Bristol city in the southwest of England and its surrounding areas. It is located in Lulsgate Bottom in North Somerset. Bristol airport first opened its doors in 1930 which then was the third civil airport operating in the United Kingdom. The airport was first known as Bristol (Whitchurch) Airport, the airport went then through many changes along with the name itself. Then for a long time, from 1997 to 2010, it was known as Bristol International Airport and then finally its present name was given to it in March of 2010. In July of 2015, the airport opened an 8.6 million pound extension of the terminal eastward, having a bigger departure lounge and an outdoor terrace.

          1. Transportations
Bristol airport has an easy access from public transportation and others. A private car is a great option as cheap airport parking options are available. Also, taxis can be used because they are even less hazardous than private cars. Coaches offered by “National Expressway” are also a great option as they run all over the UK to Bristol bus station. Then one can easily connect onto the ‘Bristol International Flyer’ which is the only coach link between the bus station to the railway and the airport. The same can be done with the train as well.
          2. Airlines and Destinations
Bristol airport has only one terminal and each year, around 4.6 million people fly around to and from more than 90 destinations. Popular destinations include Amsterdam, Dublin, and Edinburg. There are also 19 airlines operating at the Bristol airport, and the ones connecting to most destinations include EasyJet, Thomson Airways, and Ryanair.
          3. Special Facilities for the disabled
Special assistance by the airport staff is offered to those with needs. Services such as the following are available for those who are disabled and in need:
          • Unique Assistance, Parking available with allocated spaces for the visitors
          • Special Accessible toilet facilities throughout terminal
          • Lifts to upper levels
          • Low-level telephones
          • Wheelchair use
          4. Special Facilities for Children
On the ground floor of the airport, two of the toilets have special baby care facilities. Also, on the first floor within the departure lounges, there are several more. Furthermore, a separate child care facility is provided on the mezzanine floor. For the entertainment of the children, some Game Zones are available on the first floor within the departure lounges. These include video games and rides for children.
          5. Bars and Restaurants
The particular taste of each individual can be satisfied in the Bristol airport as many food outlets are available. However, only Caffé Ritazza, Subway, and Soho Coffee Co are available before security control. These stores offer snacks on the go, healthy options of snacks and coffee. After the security control, in the departure areas of the terminal, travelers will find more outlets and more bars in this area. Around 7 of them include Starbucks, Burger King, Bar Zero9 and Caviar House & Prunier Seafood Bar. These stores not only offer snacks and coffee, but they also offer alcoholic beverages and proper dining options.
          6. Shopping
Similarly for shopping as it was with food, more shops are available after security control. Before security control, however, WH Smith is available for books and magazines. Flying Visit is there to grab gifts or souvenirs, and Travelex is available for currency exchange. Once out in the departure areas of the terminal, Superdrug and Claire’s accessories for cosmetics, accessories, and other gift or fashion items. World Duty-Free, in this area, provides most items for shoppers at the best prices without the burden of tax. Big Brand names come under this shop thus if one visits this shop there is no need to visit the others as almost everything is available here.
Welcome at Bristol Airport and we hope to see you soon! Happy Traveling!
