first steps in Thailand esp Bangkok
I am Lara, I am planning to go to Bangkok for travel this October and I'm looking for a hotel good but not expensive.It would be great if you can share your experience, like, "how were your first steps in Thailand? Have you experienced anything "unusual" or difficult?, what are the main things that I should look for ?cause it is the first time of me, and I come there alone == i'm worried a little bit.

    Watch out for bag snatchers...my wife had hers snatched twice.

I am sure you will get a lot of good advice. I can give you one or two. First make sure do not wear any expensive looking jewelry when you go out walking around. Second is that always carry a photocopy of your passport with you. More advises will come to you by others. Have a great time.

    Second point they said is ... Don't take your original passport everywhere. Just keep a copy with you all times...

Bangkok is very safe ...don't worry about being robbed, even you wear gold, they won't be sure real or synthetic (fake) gold. If you tell me what is your budget, i ca recommend you gew hotels ...sukhumvit soi 11 and soi 22 are busy sois where there are many hotels to choose from. Just Avoid soi 3, 4, 5, 7 ....full of drunkard and sexpats

Just relax and go with the flow. Pick up a SIM card when you land in case you get lost or have a question but other than that... Oh and eat as much as humanely possible because it's pretty much the food capital of the world.
