Is 20,000 thb enough to last a month in Thailand?
I'll be working in Bangkok a month before I get paid so not going off to islands or anything like that.

It's doable with a cheap apartment and eating Thai food only. Don't expect any nights out.

However I would strongly advise you get more money put together.

There are a number of things that could delay your pay and put you in a bad spot. That is less than 600 USD.

You really should have a better cushion than that.

I have a credit card also, I might wait a few months if it's going to be too much of a push.

Dont worry.. It will be enough for sure.. Some guys just need to showoff. I did it even with 350euros for month. And it was a good life. Just need to know: Where to shop, and what you buy.. Don't fall in tourist traps.

I used to earn an amount lower than that from my old job, somehow managed cuz I lived in a cheap place and I buy cheap satays.

That's doable if you know where your money is intended for and if you don't blindly spend for things you don't need.

As other said, better to have a contingency plan ready (then most likely it will not realize), otherwise some unexpected expenditures may caught you up, or some risks about getting pay from a job , may realize.

650 THB per day if you find a convenient pattern for a food, transportation, laundry etc., is perfectly doable, of course, with an occasional drink.

It is possible, but you will have very, very hard time, especially in BKK.

You would need to find super cheap condo and only eat local Thai street food and forget night's out.

You have to live almost like a monk. Better save more money, 30-40k is in my opinion minimum for a foreigner in BKK (even that's not a very comfortable life but it's okish if you live simple life).

Sure you can survive one month with 20.000, if you have to.

If you can survive without partying hard in the classical expat bars ( Who need´s it?) then you can do it.

Stay somewehere in Din Daeng/Huay Khwang. eat thai food and not american pizza.

You will get best thai food or just 50 baht in your area, you can get apartment for 6000 or even more less easy.

You can go out, meet nice locals, have some cold beers on night markets or wherever and take transport like red busses, klong boats and you even can go for a weekend for a trip outside bangkok and just enjoy a good book in the hammock.

There are many others who can do it, at least millions, why should not you be able to?

Yes you can. Accommodation will be the biggest problem as most places will need at least 1 months deposit.

So you will need to look around and find somewhere cheap and if possible deposit free, or stay in a hostel.
