        • Huge. Rusty. Huge. Breathtaking. Huge. Beautiful exhibitions. Huge. UNESCO. Huge. Oh, and huge.
        • If you love mechanic/industrial/machinery/technologies it a must visit! And leave the once that don't like ot at home, that will give you more time to fully enjoy en explore it!
        • It's a great ironwork museum it's so old I think since 1773 and in the old there was more than 17000 persons work there in 24 hours!
        • Impressive location! Take time to visit all the different exhibitions and the building itself.
        • A beautiful and monumental exhibition ground and a museum in it's own right. Definitely a must see.
        • very nice place. Absolute must see
        • UNESCO world heritage site. Managed to be there for the Buddah exhibit, absolutely wonderful.
        • Fabulous location... I loved the photograph exhibition, and the old production plant was one of the most extraordinary things I saw in my life. Needs a full day to be seen properly.
        • This place is fascinating if you like industrial stuff. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and they can share a lot about the history of the place. It's also great for organising events - we had an excellent dinner in the blower hall, which can easily accommodate large numbers of people.
        • Well worth the visit. Five of us went to the ironworks, and all of us enjoyed the trip. I found it to be a great location to repurpose an old piece of history which is pretty amazing itself, and combine it with art. I would return in a heartbeat, and I may just to take more photographs.
        • Incredible place everyone must visit, whatever his age, culture or origin to understand on which grounds Europe built itself, dominated the worldwide economy... and then also got stuck. This plant -getting through all the XXth century- is a caricatural historical witness of Europe's industrial "grandeur"... and decadence. Now, this should be visited as a testimony of human's exageration and incapacity to imagine ecological consequences of its enterprise. In other words, this place should be visited as a secular "church". A magic atmosphere is guaranteed, even for non-believers ;) Especially every 2 years, while the Völklingen's international Street Art biennale is showcasing worldwide most innovative artists.
        • Very nice place to visit. Museum was very interesting. Really showed what driver this town for so many years.
        • World heritage and definitely worth the trip, elderly visitors must be fit since there is a lot of stairs
        • Amazing experience. One would not expect how interesting might be to visit a dismissed iron factory. Videos around help you understand the life people were doing inside there.
        • Very nice place. Free for students! Lots of interesting displays.
        • Amazing.! Makes you realise how much effort goes into making steel and how the economy was built around this product. How the industrial complex works. The huge size of the machines will humble you. You see the whole process..from trains unloading iron ore and coal, storage, transport to the blast furnace, electricity production, air pumps, the production line etc. Great view from the top of the furnace. Well worth the climb.
        • Amazing old factory, the place itself is already a full exhibition. Perfect with the temporary exhibitions inside. Definitely worth the visit
        • Amazing place to visit. A must if you are in the area. We had a 5 year old with us and spent 5 hours there. 40 minutes of which were spent trying to find the start of the roundwalk. Signs and indications could be better, we've seen several people walking in the wrong direction totally lost.
        • An iron works closed 30 years ago, still in good condition to explore and familiarize yourself with the industrial process of iron making. They also have art exhibits and temporary exhibitions. Do climb up to the top of the stairs.
        • As a long time urban exploration enthusiast this was the mekka for me. The location was immense and very interesting.Atmosphere was great with the ambient sounds played around the exhibition. If you are afraid of heights it might be a problem to visit he higher parts of the location.Use of a helmet was obligatory in the plant outside. Good safe pathways and overall presentation, exit markers could be more definitive. You can easily spend 4-5 hours here when looking at everything.
        • First time for me, and really surprise of this amazing place ! He take time to see everything , but a pleasure. And the urban art Biennale, is just perferct in this building !
        • Impressive and huge place, you can feel the history inside. The only problem is the lack of signs to guide you, you can easily get lost inside
        • A must see place if you like Industrial heritage.
        • If you get the opportunity to do a guided tour, take it! It was very cool to learn the history of this place and how steel is produced.
        • A well adapted for visitors old steel mill, i would consider it child friendly. More signs and explainatory texts in English would be welcome. Potable water is not available at the site.
        • Amazing place, difficult to describe how vast this place is. If you are into industrial heritage this is a must. Ensure you take drinks and food with you as there is little in the way of refreshments once inside and finding them can be a challenge.
        • Truly historic and iconic. A remnant of the glory days of the steel making past of Saarland. UNESCO world heritage site.
        • Very informative indoor and outdoor museum. We spend almost half a day in the side to experience the workshops. I could imagined the hot and hard work conditions of the time. Very interesting and worth a visit.
        • Impressive location!! Incredible to see how people worked decades ago. Always worth a visit MN perfect location for expositions.
        • The scale, the colours, fall out landscape, the history, the silent beauty of an abandoned industrial site. Just because it's no longer in use does not mean it has to be torn down as proved here. Open the space to the public, preserve the history, use the space imaginatively for art and music theatre etc.
        • As this is a world heritage monument now, it surely is worth a trip. You'll be walking through a historic site and can enjoy the monstrous iron structures. Pretty neat. Before you come you should have a look at their website to find out what exhibitions are on display or if there are any events happening at the moment. They have quite a diverse range of different colections from cultural exhibitions on hold or urban art. There are two huge music events happening there and many more around the year.
        • A beautiful, iconic, and historical site. Provides a glimpse of what our cities will look like in the future when nature moves in to reclaim them.
        • Great way to learn about this industrial area of Germany. Such a great self-Guides Tour. No problems if you only speak English. Lots of walking but totally worth it!
        • Amazing experience! Highly recommended. Truly awesome. My only complaint: in the science center (Ferrodrome?) the tea smelled like oil.
        • Unesco Heritage! I was so lucky to get an opportunity to work in this iconic area a couple years ago. The ironworks has also a nice view on the night with light shades
        • A very rare opportunity to see virtually the entire workings of a mid 20th century iron producing factory. You can walk from the bottom floor up through many floors to nearly the very top and look out over the works and of course the town of Völklingen.
