      • Connecticut
Otherwise known as the Constitution State, Connecticut was the fifth of the original 13 colonies, and as such has a rich national history. One of the oldest states in the US, Connecticut boasts a range of historical cities, coastline, and plenty of natural beauty to boot. Also home to Yale University and various world- renowned museums associated with the school, the state can easily lay claim to the reputation of one of the most visited states in the nation.

Connecticut is also home to the famous Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos, which are world famous Native American casinos which host some of the most prominent poker tournaments each year on the professional circuit, including World Poker Tour events. Foxwoods Poker Room is the third largest in the world, giving Connecticut yet another reason to be popular with visitors.

Aside from the casinos, museums, and the universities, Connecticut also boasts several botanical gardens, such as the Marsh Botanical Garden in New Haven, which is located on Yale campus. But perhaps the most famous of the national landmarks for Connecticut are the lighthouses. There are literally dozens of them dotting the coastline, such as the Avery Point Light in Groton, or the Southwest Ledge Light in New Haven. There are also dozens of beaches, ranging from Pleasure Beach in Bridgeport, to Cove Island Park in Stamford. Keep in mind that alcohol is not sold on Sundays, so if you plan to do any drinking while having a barbecue on the weekend you’ll need to stock up in advance. Visit the historical cities of New Haven, Mystic, Norwalk, Bridgeport, and take a step back into ancient American history, back when the colonial constitution was first implemented and the birthing pains of the nation were just beginning. From the banks of the Connecticut River to the beautiful New England scenery and crisp climate, there is plenty to experience while in the state.

      • New Haven
New Haven is the second-largest city in Connecticut, after Bridgeport. It is in New Haven County, on New Haven Harbor, on the northern coast of Long Island Sound.

Founded in 1638, New Haven could be considered to be the oldest formally planned community in the United States due to the original grid of four streets by four streets. This created what is now commonly known as the "Nine Squares," now the center of Downtown New Haven. The city instituted the first public tree planting program in America, eventually producing a canopy of mature trees (including some large elms) that gave New Haven the nickname "The Elm City."

The city is best known as the home of Yale University and the National Historic Landmark New Haven Green. Along with Yale University, healthcare (hospitals, biotechnology), professional services (legal, architectural, marketing, engineering), financial services and retail trade form the base of the economy. Since the mid-1990s, the city's downtown area and many of its neighborhoods have seen extensive revitalization. Other colleges and Universities in New Haven include Southern Connecticut State University, and Albertus Magnus college, with Quinnipiac University and the University of New Haven in the greater New Haven area.

        • The orthodontic office is great here! I honestly would not recommend any other place for orthodontics (braces and such). The doctors here are great and work with you perfectly. They always have a smile on their faces and are really truly happy with what they do everyday!
        • The ER is beautiful but aside from that I brought my friend in for a tooth ache. Admitting was very fast. DR. Emily was very sweet and took wonderful care of my friend. I would recommend Uconn over any hospital in central CT.
        • I went into the ER one night, close to midnight, with pain in my ears due to a previous double ear infection. I waited an hour to be seen, only to have the doctor look in my ears and say "I can see why you're in pain, but I'm not going to give you anything". I was in some of the worst pain I've ever felt, but apparently that warranted no treatment. When the nurse discharged me, she recited the typical "thanks for stopping by, I hope you feel better", adding insult to injury. I literally received NO TREATMENT, so how could I have felt better?! A few days later, I received a follow-up call from UConn, asking how I was feeling -no better. The woman on the other end urged me to see someone about my ears, because "an ear infection is nothing to play around with". Tell that to your ER staff! I went to a walk in, and they treated me far more effectively. I kinda feel bad leaving a 1 star review for all of UConn Health, as I go to UConn for Primary Care, OB/GYN, and Psych, and they're all WONDERFUL, but the Emergency Room is absolute GARBAGE! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
        • Spent hours in the ER to be sent home with no tests and a diagnosis of heartburn. Returned several hours later in horrible pain, had to wait an other 4 hours before being seen, turns out I had acute gall bladder attack that required surgery. They claim this isn't a misdiagnosis. If you want to "know better care" - go somewhere else!
        • Our stop here was most unexpected. After suffering for a few days, we packed up to head back home to California. After being in severe pain from Massachusetts all the way to the hospital I couldn't take it anymore and we were brought here. The staff was very friendly and helpful getting me in the back. We got everything done very quickly and the dr was in within 20 mins. She was able to quickly ID the problem and get me on a medication regime and even something to make sure I wasn't in writhing pain. Thank you for the quick and supportive staff.
