    Peoria (population 154,000) is a major suburb of Phoenix, Arizona. Peoria is currently the sixth largest city in Arizona for land area, and the ninth largest for population.

    Travelers might most closely associate Peoria with baseball. With one of the country's best facilities for spring training -- not to mention year-round Arizona Summer and Fall League games -- and convenient access to just about every major sporting venue, Peoria is a sunny playground for sports lovers.
