Users Assigned: KazmiCorpus Christi sits on the Gulf of Mexico and is the eighth largest city in Texas (pop. around 280,000). The climate is subtropical and you will rarely doubt this because of the constant hot weather and abundance of palm trees. Corpus is touted as the “Sparkling City by the Sea” and you will readily agree as you drive down Shore Line Blvd during your first visit – it is a beautiful drive that shows the city at its best (a lot of other spots aren’t quite so ‘sparkling’…but that can be said of all sizable cities).
Corpus is a coastal city and the county seat of Nueces County in Texas.
The beaches of North Padre Island are still quality attractions and other local draws include the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington (or "Lady Lex", a retired aircraft carrier), both located downtown near more excellent beaches. Nearby is a wealth of further unique places to visit in this spot in south Texas - a little bit of research should reveal something that suits your likes!
Fish, Crablegs, fresh shrimp off boat, surf fishing and pier fishing those are the most important things to know about Corpus. You can go to the docks and for $2 a pound purchase crablegs, shrimp and some types of fresh fish. A lot of states have their preferred menu for events like superbowl. In Texas a lot of us go to the coast stock up on fresh crab and shrimp, get a huge pot dump them in with some corn, old bay and cook them till half time. There is nothing fresher or better.
