• Newark

  Newark, Delaware. Small college town USA. Located in New Castle county, about 45 minutes south of Philadelphia proper, Newark's main draw is the University of Delaware, a medium size school of about 20,000 with a fine national reputation and a fairly large endowment of about 1.4 billion US dollars. The town itself is about 31,000 strong but takes on a quiet atmosphere during the university's down times.
  
  Being a typical college town of local bars, and small eateries, Newark does have a bit of history being founded by Scots-Irish and Welsh as early as 1694. The American Declaration of Independence was signed by 3 locally educated residents George Read, Thomas McKean, and James Smith, graduates of Newark Academy which would later merge to become the previously mentioned University. The British and American forces fought a few miles outside of town at Cooch's Bridge, flying the Stars and Stripes flag for possibly the first time in battle.
  
  The center of town is called "Main Street", a common and not so original name. There are miles of park lands close to Newark which are great for many outdoor activities from biking to hiking. Occasionally one may run into an Olympic level figure skating athlete as the University of Delaware Figure Skating Club's current director has trained 36 world champions. US vice president Joe Biden studied here and was once a member of the local Fightin' Blue Hens football (American style) squad which receives great support here. Saturdays in the fall transform this sleepy town into an Autumn festival of colors, bands and beer, as students and local residents enjoy 5 or 6 home football games.

• Wilmington

  Wilmington is a city of about 70,000 in the state of Delaware, but only about 40km south of the city of Philadelphia, a former US capitol from colonial times, and one of the US's largest metro areas. Easily connected to Philadelphia by highway and train, it also has easy access to New York City by highway and train as well as Washington D.C.
  
  Being originally settled by Dutch and Swedes, an original replica of one of the original ships from the 1600's The Kalmar Nyckel (Key of Kalmar)can be visited here. The first Swedish settlement in North America, Fort Christina was located here. It is commemorated at it's original location at Fort Christina State Park a small riverside area in Wilmington.
  
  Wilmington was the birthplace of the E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company, inventor of Kevlar, neoprene, Mylar, Teflon, Lycra and many other now common materials. Bob Marley the famous Reggae singer was once a resident of Wilmington and is commemorated every summer in July with a festival in the city. Though small and not so "international" in scope compared to the large urban centers with in it's reach, Wilmington has a number of museums that garner national attention such as the Hagley Museum and Library, Nemours Mansion and Gardens, Winterthur Museum and Country Estate, and Holy Trinity (Old Swedes') Church, a national historical landmark.

  The Borough of West Chester, Pennsylvania is the county seat of Chester County, Pennsylvania. West Chester is located in Pennsylvania’s southeast corner, approximately 35 miles west of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is home to the West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
  
  West Chester is a quiet suburban town that has retained much of its architecture by successfully combining modern construction amongst its 19th century buildings.

  Excellent local pizza - Garlic knots are amazing, and highly recommend the Tomato pie.

  Never had bad food or bad expierence, my opinion best pizza in the area

  Pizza was good, buy the crust is really hard and the cheese falls off the pizza.

  Service was okay. I ordered a small chef salad. Menu said it came with olives and had way to much carrot shred. I didnt get olives. I ordered chicken and broccoli Alfredo. The sauce was watery like soup. No flavor. The chicken was rubbery. The broccoli was over cooked and fell apart in my mouth into mush. The pasta needed another 2 minutes. I still tipped the man.
