      • New Haven
New Haven is the second-largest city in Connecticut, after Bridgeport. It is in New Haven County, on New Haven Harbor, on the northern coast of Long Island Sound.

Founded in 1638, New Haven could be considered to be the oldest formally planned community in the United States due to the original grid of four streets by four streets. This created what is now commonly known as the "Nine Squares," now the center of Downtown New Haven. The city instituted the first public tree planting program in America, eventually producing a canopy of mature trees (including some large elms) that gave New Haven the nickname "The Elm City."

The city is best known as the home of Yale University and the National Historic Landmark New Haven Green. Along with Yale University, healthcare (hospitals, biotechnology), professional services (legal, architectural, marketing, engineering), financial services and retail trade form the base of the economy. Since the mid-1990s, the city's downtown area and many of its neighborhoods have seen extensive revitalization. Other colleges and Universities in New Haven include Southern Connecticut State University, and Albertus Magnus college, with Quinnipiac University and the University of New Haven in the greater New Haven area.

      • Fairfield
Fairfield, CT is located at the top of the "Gold Coast" of Long Island Sound, around 1 hour from New York City. Surrounding towns are Westport, Weston, Easton, Trumbull and Bridgeport. Easiest ways to get here are by car (I-95 and the Merritt Parkway both go through Fairfield) or Metro-North Railroad. From Long Island, you can also cross the sound on the Port Jefferson Ferry to Bridgeport.

Fairfield is home to Fairfield University and Sacred Heart University as well as General Electric. Fairfield has a nice downtown area with shopping, restaurants and bars (and a great community movie theater and theater company). You can also enjoy one of the five beaches on the sound (but don't try parking your car directly at the beach during the summer...)

      • Connecticut
Otherwise known as the Constitution State, Connecticut was the fifth of the original 13 colonies, and as such has a rich national history. One of the oldest states in the US, Connecticut boasts a range of historical cities, coastline, and plenty of natural beauty to boot. Also home to Yale University and various world- renowned museums associated with the school, the state can easily lay claim to the reputation of one of the most visited states in the nation.

Connecticut is also home to the famous Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods Casinos, which are world famous Native American casinos which host some of the most prominent poker tournaments each year on the professional circuit, including World Poker Tour events. Foxwoods Poker Room is the third largest in the world, giving Connecticut yet another reason to be popular with visitors.

Aside from the casinos, museums, and the universities, Connecticut also boasts several botanical gardens, such as the Marsh Botanical Garden in New Haven, which is located on Yale campus. But perhaps the most famous of the national landmarks for Connecticut are the lighthouses. There are literally dozens of them dotting the coastline, such as the Avery Point Light in Groton, or the Southwest Ledge Light in New Haven. There are also dozens of beaches, ranging from Pleasure Beach in Bridgeport, to Cove Island Park in Stamford. Keep in mind that alcohol is not sold on Sundays, so if you plan to do any drinking while having a barbecue on the weekend you’ll need to stock up in advance. Visit the historical cities of New Haven, Mystic, Norwalk, Bridgeport, and take a step back into ancient American history, back when the colonial constitution was first implemented and the birthing pains of the nation were just beginning. From the banks of the Connecticut River to the beautiful New England scenery and crisp climate, there is plenty to experience while in the state.

      • Stamford
Stamford is the unoffical capital of Southern Connecticut. It has grown into the major southern hub in the state along route 95, the major north-south east coast throroughfare than continues up into New England. Stamford's neighborhoods have always been suburbs of New York City, although over the last decade many financial and other businesses have made the area their corporate headquarters, running a short stretch between Greenwich and Stamford.

Stamford is a full fledged city, although not a place you consider for tourism. It serves as a commuting hub, with fast trains to Grand Central Station in the south, and heading points north toward Boston. There are, of course, many decent restaurants that must cater to a market familiar with the quality of NYC. It is a hub for many wealthy spoke suburban bedroom communities offering great lifestyles, including places like Wilton, Westport, Norwalk, Darien, etc.

Stamford is also right on the water - the Long Island Sound. The sound is a wonderful navigable body of water running from New York City for more than 100 miles to the Atlantic Ocean past Montauk and Rhode Island. Many Stamford area residents take advantage of great sailing and power boating, and there are many yacht clubs and a few waterside marinas and restaurants.

Perhaps what keeps Stamford popular is that all of its offerings are still less than one hour by car or train into the center of New York City.

        • Good medical service, but rotten beside manner. The doctor is short rude and doesn't give consideration for things. My sister is ADDHD and the doctor asked her a question and she has a hard time with information. He told her what you cannot answer a simple question. Also being ADDHD, she needs help and the doctor threatened to walk out of the appointment cause she contacted a person to try to help her understand what the doctor was talking about. He told her that if she was going to call someone that he was walking out of the appointment.
