As the capital of France’s Mediterranean border district - the arresting Cote D’Azur - Nice’s Bay of Angels curves around a shimmering pale-blue watery background, and is home to plenty in the way of palm trees, cocktails, umbrellas (strictly for keeping off the sun in these parts), pricey yachts and sparkling, polished pebbles. Arrive in the summer, and it’s tempting to flop down on the gently sloping sands and stay put until the bars come to life.

While it might not quite match up to magnificent Monaco in terms of wealth and riches, Nice’s pay off is in the city being far more affordable, and home to an exciting range of culture that can take you away from the beach without breaking the bank. Nightlife here is balmy and fashionable (dress down to impress), while plenty flock to the city for its striking art scene, too.

Both the Zen structures of the Asian Art Museum and the memorable interlinked towers of the Museum of Contemporary and Modern Art are well worth a trip, with both introducing a startling array of of-the-minute work from around the world, while those with a more ancient aesthetic might prefer the intricacies of the 17th century baroque Palais Lascaris (complete with ornate staircase and its own beguiling old pharmacy) or the countless specimens on display at the Museum of Natural History. There’s a revolving door of impressive temporary exhibits to be found downtown, too.

It would be a waste not to explore the Colline Du Chateaux, its shady Mediterranean panorama and the ornate waterfalls overlooking the town, or for shopping addicts, to make the most of the city’s astounding selection of enticing boutiques. You can even hire yourself a wobbly looking two-wheeled Segway to explore the city on, and wind round the local heritage walks the lazy way. Most of all, though, Nice is the perfect spot to relax, perhaps head out to sea and swim off the side of a yacht, and make enjoy temperate nights on the beach sipping on a colorful cocktail before diving into the city’s manic nightlife.

    • Monaco
Since Monaco is both a city and an independent nation, Monaco is also the capital. Often mistaken for the capital, Monte Carlo is only a government district in Monaco. Monaco has few attractions worth checking out. Its main attractions are: the Prince’s Palace, the Monte-Carlo Casino and the Opera House, the Oceanographic Museum. Other Attraction: the Jardin Exotique, the Monaco Cathedral, the Fort Antoine, the Museum of Antique Automobiles, the Azur Express.

    • Monte Carlo
This is some serious stuff. Arriving in Monaco you will realize that everything is done "large" here! The yachts are huge, the cars are fancy and the people are insanely RICH!!!

There is an amazing Aquarium located in this tiny country and the burial sites of Princess Grace and Prince Ranier. Small tiny avenues that lead you to the palace so that you can watch the changing of the guards at 12 noon.

Trekking over to the Grand Casino was a slight trek, but doable. There are two casinos - one for the "high rollers" and one for the general crowd.
      Monte Carlo, Monaco-Ville, Monaco
    • Antibes
Antibes is a small town located in the Cote D'Azur in the south of France. It is mid-way between Nice and Cannes, and is a great day trip from either Cannes or Nice.

This small town, may be famous because of its beach of sand (contrasting with Nice's pebble beach) and because of the huge number of yachts at the port. However, this town also has a Picasso Museum and a Provencal Market.
      Antibes, France
    • Cannes
Quite possibly one of the most luxurious seaside destinations in the whole of France, well-known for the annual film festival that makes its way through and the various luxury accommodations, shops, gated communities, restaurants, and views, Cannes tops the list of places to be when traveling in Europe. May is the premier time to come if you want to rub shoulders with Hollywood’s elite, as the Cannes Film Festival brings in actors, directors, and producers from all over the globe. Beyond that, however, the city itself is a panorama of French beauty, both in the architecture and way of life.

There are some who say that Cannes can be experienced on a budget, but the reality is a little more expensive. While it’s true that the most expensive time of the year to be here is during the Cannes Film Festival, it’s not exactly cheap anytime else. This is the absolute when it comes to French Riviera destinations, which means that accommodations and amenities lean towards the luxurious, not the budget-conscious. However, if you have a little extra cash in your pocket to burn, Cannes is an absolute wonder to behold at any time of the year. From the winding streets of old town to the covered market or the Palais des Festivals, this is the French Riviera at its best. Private beaches line the coast, and the port itself boasts some of the most expensive yachts in the world. There are also the Iles de Lerins to consider—two islands out in the bay itself which have their own spectacles.

From the luxury boutiques to the fashion outlets to the restaurants and the hotels along the Riveira, Cannes is a must-see if you enjoy a little slice of indulgence from time to time. Just be warned if you come in May; the film festival is one of the most well-known in the world, and it’s more than just a little crowded.
