In 1960, mining granite facilitated thousands of residents but despite that, only a few hundred families are currently living there. Pulau Ubin is among the few last witnesses that has seen Singapore’s Kampong in its most original form. It observed it when it stood uninfluenced by modern industrial trends and large-scale urbanization. Villages consisting of wooden houses and jetties, conserved yet dynamic wildlife, deserted quarries and lush plantations have helped maintain the essence of the place. The fact that it is still far away from tarmacked roads and cemented buildings also contributes to preserving its original form.

        • Though I have only been to a few airports, I can still say that this is the one of the best in the world. the staff are really helpful, and it is really clean. i love the carpeted floors most of all. and the shops? you can spend a day in Changi Airport and you might not be able to finish seeing all that they've got to offer you. they have shopping stores here, a variety of food to choose from and even a hotel if you want to spend the night nearby. and a butterfly garden and their "kinetic rain" display is absolutely a masterpiece.
        • I loved this place because I feel it is one of the best, cleanest and easy to understand airports. The signboards that guide you, the shops and for people who stay for long hours the entertainment part. There is free WiFi here, a nice place to watch matches, clean washrooms, lounges, restaurants, charging points, sitting areas, small theatre, televisions, sunflower garden, cactus garden, orchid gardens, sky trains to go from one terminal to another. There is hardly any chance of people getting bored in that airport. It's a lovely airport and my favourite till now.
        • I was really impressed. It's my first time traveling in a different country, and I never got a chance to go to another country until now. The service was nice, relaxing music everywhere you go in the airport, very nice staff, a lot of places to go, and you can spend a whole day in Changi Airport but you can't go to all places of how BIG it is. Thank you Changi Airport for the wonderful service.
        • Beautiful Airport. So much entertainment, shops, restaurants, you can have free tour if you have transit more than 5 hours. You can swim and spa treatment at Terminal 1. Butterfly garden, orchid garden.
        • Simply one of the best airports. If I was to be stuck at an airport for an extended period of time I would hope it was this one. Throughout have travelled a plethora of airports around the world some decent and some awful. This airport has all the great things. Good shops and restaurants. Amazing seating including beds in darkened areas. Free strollers and luggage carts. The bathrooms were very modern and clean. The pay loundge has a gym and a pool. The only thing to be aware of is the security x-ray etc is at the gate. So that's bag check, immigration, go to gate and do x-ray etc so you have to hang on to your passport and stow your stuff for a bit longer.
