• Springfield

  Welcome to Springfield, Cashew Chicken capital of the world!!! Springfield is the third largest city in Missouri, behind St Louis and Kansas City. It is located in the Southwestern corner of the state on a plateau named the same as the city. The city was actually important in the civil war. Wilson's Creek battlefield is just SW of the city. There is a wild west history as well as a more modern day aspect as the hometown of Brad Pitt as well as the location of the college that Kathleen Turner, John Goodman and Tess Harper attended. Now known as Missouri State University, formerly Southwest Missouri State University, the school originated as a teacher's college before widening it's scope. Evangel University, Baptist Bible College, Drury University and Ozarks Technical Community College are all located in Springfield.
  
  Table Rock Lake, Lake of the Ozarks, Bull Shoals Lake, Norfork Lake, and many others are within an hour or two of the city. Smaller lakes such as the aptly named Lake Springfield and Fellowes Lake are within or near the city limits. There are many boating, canoeing, biking, hiking and off road opportunities in the area as well. The Mark Twain National Forest is nearby as are a number of rivers in the National Wild and Scenic Riverways.
  
  You don't have to travel far out of town to experience a rural community. There are Amish and Mennonite communities nearby as well as many farms including dairy, cattle, hogs, poultry and horses. There are numerous restaurants and coffeehouses in town with everything from barbecue to curry available! There are numerous forums for live stage entertainment such as the Juanita K Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts on MSU's campus to the Gillois Theater, a renovated theater downtown near Park Central Square. In the summer, be sure to visit Jordan Valley Park!

  Well, it is ok for some people maybe. If you like being completely stripped of everything in your bank account due to them swiping your card numerous times for the same charge, then you will love it here! If you enjoy spiders, and do not mind being bitten by them multiple times, then this is the place! Enjoy strange and random people coming to your door looking for a phone, or wanting to "charge their phone" or perhaps you enjoy being awakened at 4 Am by a drunk? If you enjoy those things then look no further! Housekeeping and maintenance truly are wonderful. Wish I could say the same for the front desk staff.

  The hotel is obviously outdated in its decor, however that is really the only negative I have about it. We stayed for two nights. The reason we chose this hotel was because we needed to be able to sleep in a space away from our 10 month old so he could take naps in peace and we wouldn't have to go to bed at 8 pm with him. We had his pack and play downstairs next to the table where it was nice and dark. It blocked the path to the bathroom down there but that was fine as we had the bathroom upstairs with our bed. We still had to keep the TV low and we whispered because the walls to the bedroom upstairs don't go up to the ceiling but at least we were far enough away from him that we didn't disturb him. The full kitchen was nice so we could use the microwave and fridge. If we had been staying we might have used the kitchen more. There were even some glasses, plates, and silverware which came in handy. We were close enough to everything we needed location wise so this turned out to be a great fit for us. If you are traveling with children or a group of people and need separate sleeping and bath areas this is a great hotel.

  Stayed with my family. The breakfasts were good and we all could find something we like. The room needed some remodeling. Just normal use items that should be replaced, repaired or painted. We would stay again, as they were very accommodating to pets.

  This is our favorite place to place Springfield mo..really like the full kitchen and apartment like amenities.
