• Nashville

  An undeniable heartland of the American country music scene, Nashville’s reputation will arguably never escape from the country and western image, but recently the city’s headed in other directions. A heavy industrialization has bought a different, slightly corporate edge to Nashville, but done nothing to detract from the extensive bar crawling and country taverns that still prevail.
  
  You can’t come to Nashville without exploring the country scene at least a little, though, (especially once you’ve got used to hearing that weighty accent every day), and the best way to do it, bar scene aside, is in spending a little time in the Country Music Hall Of Fame. You’ll get to drop in on Studio B as part of your entry fee, and regular live shows plus a full on explanation of the region’s passion make sure you leave with your fill of twanging guitars and strained voices.
  
  Once you’re done with the music, there are plenty of other things to explore, too. Civil War sights are prevalent here, and include the rustic but impressive Fort Negley, the intriguing Hermitage and the pre-Civil War sight of the Belle Meade Plantation, fully restored and featuring costumed employees who give a great insight into life in the US during times of slavery. After the serious side, you’ll probably want to do something a little more fun, and the Yazoo Brewery seems the obvious option, though learning how the beers are produced is a Saturday only (non brewing day) option.
  
  Head out of town and you’ll find a distillery that might inspire even more. Infamous Tennessee bourbon Jack Daniels is produced ninety minutes from Nashville, though you’ll get a tasting free tour, as remarkably one of the world’s most notorious alcohol producers is located in a dry district. Other major draws include some impressive scenery (check out Fall Creek and the Great Smokey Mountains if you have the time), and the crumbling Civil War town of Franklin.
  
  This really is the heart of America’s deep south, in many ways an entirely different world to the fashionable corners of California, Florida and New York, and worth exploring for that reason alone. You’ll find yourself inundated with country music, struggling with accents yet in the heart of a city that’s far more modern than most expect. All part of the experience.

• Murfreesboro

  Murfeesboro, TN is a college town, home to Middle Tennessee State University. It is located about 25 miles south of Nashville. Despite expanding commercialization along the interstate and a population around 100,000 the town still has been able to retain some of its small town atmosphere.
  
  The town square is what you would expect from a much smaller community, with city hall in the center surrounded by all different types of businesses. The Stones River runs through the town and is thus a large part of the community life. They have an extensive green-way with paths for biking and walking. The Stones River National Battlefield can be found here as well. This was the site of a Battle during the Civil War during the winter of 1862-1863. There are several old cemetery's in town as well. Cannonsbugh is essentially the city's museum, it consists of an old style town with Log Cabin houses and a few other buildings to show forth the history of the town from its founding through to modern times.
  
  Murfreesboro is also less than a hour from a number of great state park areas, Natchez Trace, and Savage Gulf are both very close as well as the Duck River, and Cumberland Caverns.

  One of the Lovely restaurant I have been in united states. Great hosts, lovely ambience, drinks/cocktails/mocktails made to perfection that you can't keep yourself off the bar counter. Sam, the bar tender is too good in reading your tastes, tailoring every drink and explaining it to you and making you crave for more. Last but not the least, I did not believe till I visited this place that Nashville TN has the best award for clean restrooms in America.

  Absolutely delicious! Service was fantastic, food was very well prepared and the atmosphere was wonderful. I'll definitely be back, especially for their Moto Monday.

  The atmosphere and decor are great, but the food is mediocre at best...actually, it is safe to say that it is bad for what you pay. We went to Moto for a work dinner with seven colleagues and our table ordered a variety of items and the only thing that came out good was the bread, wine, appetizer cheese and meats plate, steaks and dessert (tiramisu, pistachio ice cream and chocolate cheesecake). The pasta dishes were bad. The dish that amounted to their version of spaghetti and meatballs came out with extremely well done pasta - which, we had to send back and was replaced with a simple butter and shaved truffle sauce pasta dish that literally had spaghetti that was tough to chew. Salt usage was also all over the place. Disclosure, our table didn't order their signature blueberry lasagna - I've had this dish in the past and it is pretty good. Anyhow, the service was gold, but the food was disappointing this go around. I think it is safe to say that it will be a while before I go back to drop another $90 per/person for an Italian restaurant that can't get simple spaghetti dishes right.

  Went on a recommendation from a local while in town for our anniversary. Honestly, every minute was perfect. I was torn between the filet (steaks are sourced from the same provider as their steakhouse, which is highly regarded nationally) and the Black Spaghetti. Went with the pasta. Oh. My. Gosh. Quite probably the best pasta dish of my life. Also had the Brussel Sprouts. I never (ever) imagined these words forming a sentence in my head, but the brussel sprouts may have been the best food on the table. My wife ordered something nearly as good, but I don't remember what it was. Between the pasta and the sprouts, I was having trouble paying attention. Damn. Thinking about that dinner has me considering another trip to Nashville. Go. Eat. Drink. You won't be disappointed.

  We made a reservation online. We got in right at our 830 reservation time even though they were very busy (Saturday night). Service was excellent. The bar was a little backed up when we arrived, but they were slammed and we still got drinks within about 10 min of arriving. Our waiter was very well informed and confident, made great suggestions (the brussels are amazing), and knew all the flavors associated with the meals and explained what complimented what. It was a really nice dining experience. The food was spot on, fresh with a unique twist, the calamari is excellent...and I am a very picky eater. I was very pleased with everything. My only "negatives" would be that it was loud, but I'd expect that on a busy Saturday night and (not necessarily to be associated with the restaurant), the valet came around the corner in my brand new SUV going way too fast and almost slammed into someone else. Restaurant experience 5 stars, valet, I'm going with 2 stars.
