• Gatlinburg

  Gatlinburg, commonly known as "Gateway to the Smoky Mountains," is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains. There are many things to do in Gatlinburg including everything from shopping to snow skiing. There is not enough room to include everything there is to do in Gatlinburg. It is second to Vegas for wedding chapels. There are over 400 shops and five malls to include t-shirt, souviners, arts & crafts and many more There are multiple museums and shows, mini golf courses, an aquarium and restaurants.
  
  There are all kinds of events from car shows to hayrides. Christmas time is very beautiful with all of the decorations, and it wouldn't be right not to mention Ober Gatlinburg, where you can go snowskiing or iceskating.
  
  There opportunities to go camping, canoeing, hiking, fishing, golfing and rafting. Gatlinburg is a crowded retreat in the mountains, but you can find places for solitude.

• Pigeon Forge

  This community has only about 5 or 6 thousand population according to the census, but since Theme Parks, especially Dollywood, became the areas major emphasis, this town has become the young family tourist attraction destination for the entire south east. With more miniature golf courses and go-kart tracks than anywhere around, kids find this a great place to be. And with more Factory outlet stores, women have fun here too. Pigeon Forge is located in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, so there’s hiking, fishing, tubing, and other outdoor activities all around. In addition, there are tons of restaurants, indoor skydiving, laser tag, arcades, dinner shows, comedy clubs, circus acts, and more.
  
  There's lots of traffic, so arrive early in the day and accomodations are everywhere. For a small town, this place is huge!!!
  
  A five-minute drive separates Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tennessee. So, most visitors go back and forth between the two towns.

• Knoxville

  Welcome to Knoxville, the home of the University of Tennessee Volunteers and the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. Knoxville was the home of the 1982 Worlds Fair and the Sun Sphere, which was featured in a episode of the Simpsons.
  
  Knoxville is located in a beautiful part of the country, at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains and on the banks of the Tennessee River. With just a short ride from the Mountains and only a couple of hours from places such as Asheville, NC, Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA and Nashville, TN, Knoxville is centrally located amoungst several major hubs. With its beautiful weather and more beautiful women, low crime rate and lower unemployment rate, Knoxville is a wonderful place to live.

  Such an amazing, fun place with fantastic views and scenery!! I'm 42 yrs old and my daughter is 19 and we had fun like two little kids riding the Alpine Mountain Coaster and Slide!!! Everyone was so nice and courteous. We have got to come back and experience this place during the winter season!!!

  Fun ride up the mountain. I'm a little scared of heights but the breathtaking views make it all worth it. We went through the animal encounter and loved seeing the bears, cats, otters, owls, and more! Facility could use a few updates as the place looks very dated but it was a lot of fun with decent prices.

  It is a bit of a tourist trap but it has beautiful scenery and some neat activities on top of the mountain. We did have some lightening which delayed our departure. We decided to watch dinner instead of waiting for Ober to send buses up to the mountain. If possible I would recommend having one person drive up to make sure you can get out quickly if thunderstorms develop.

  We enjoy going to Ober when visiting Gatlinburg. We always enjoying going up to Ober on the aerial tram and then going even further on the scenic chairlift which has amazing views. Downsides: The main Ober mall area at the top does show its age some, the arcade is highly outdated. We have never paid for the animal encounter because it always looks run down and pitiful from the aerial tram. The shops weren't bad but seemed very over priced. If the scenic chair lift wasn't there we would most likely not visit but it totally makes it worth the visit.

  Great local place to ski even if it can be spotty bc of weather. They can help if it's 50-70 degrees in winter sometimes so I don't fault them for uncontrollable weather. The ride up the mountain is the best! My family loves riding the lift up and sometimes we just ride it for fun
