Ometepe for a night
My boyfriend and I are arriving in Nicaragua next week!

I dont know why, but I'm nervous. We're going to Ometepe for a night, and I hear its hard to get over there? Whats the weather like currently - anything I should be sure to bring with me?

Would love to hear from anyone whos there now or knows what its like in July :) Thanks!

    Ometepe is the jewel of Nicaragua and the people are all gold!!!

We have been there in July and it only mostly rained at night. Bring some bug spray for Ometepe and don’t forget to visit Ojo de Angua!

Don’t be nervous, the people are so nice and helpful. You will love it there.

Nothing to be nervous about in Nicaragua, the whole country is backpackers friendly and everyone finds their way around easily!

Locals are also friendly indeed, but keep in mind that speaking some Spanish definitely helps!

It's green season, so there are intermittent rains. And sun.

Maderas is covered in rainforest, so it's part of what adds to the tropical diversity here.

Keep a plastic bag with you to cover books/phones/camera equipment.
