• Albufeira

  Albufeira has a very nice old center. But if you want to see the authentic Portugal, there is not much left. In 1755 there was an earthquake this destroyed a lot. The main places in the south of Portugal are, Faro, portimao lagos and Albufeira. Albufeira has grown into a very big city with only big Hotels. It is for tourists who like to drink and party an amazing place to be. In this place you see a lot of British tourists. The strip is also filled with English pub's and bar's. The beach is beautiful but you have to walk a very steep hill down. But down is not the problem. The way up is!!! The beach in the area of the strip is too crowded. But there are other nice beaches.
  
  The Portugese people are very friendly and helpful, but they don't like the indecently behavior of the tourists. The road's are very good, but very hard to find on the map. We rented a car and drove around, we went to Sevilla and back to Faro, and Albufeira. Yes we ended up in Beja. Very far away from the sea and Albufeira. There was a sign on the road that said to Portugal. So we took that road. Wrong! Wrong! We were totally lost. And the problem is, the people in the inlands don't speak English!! So you will have a problem. But the inlands are very beautiful and pure.

• Sagres

  This most southwestern cape is remembered as the place where D. Henrique dreamed with the discoveries of the unknown world, and from where he controlled the movement of the boats. Hardly discussed the buildings and general treatment of the space to touristic purposes (I'm among those who don't like it) it is a mandatory visit between swims.
  
  As a matter of fact Sagres is an important reference to all the Portuguese, for the symbolic role it played in the discoveries.
  
  The use of the place doesn't make justice to it, and in your visit, you will be more attracted by the landscape, and the sights of the steep promontories and wild beaches than for the references in display.
  
  "The end of the western world" in the antiquity, became the starting point for the new one.
  
  The (today) empty space shouldn't be that empty, and it is easy to imagine prince Henrique controlling from the cliffs the movements of ships coming and going (well, our old history in school, during the nationalist dictatorship, was so full of such theatrical references, that we easily forget that the real origin of the navigators should have been Lagos).

  Nice hotel resort, starting to need a bit of TLC but staff are lovely. Good breakfast and good location.

  One of the nicer marina I have visited in Algarve. Also bigger and easier to maneuver the boat around compared to some other smaller marinas in Algarve. Easy access to restaurants, beach and shopping area although will require a car to get into large shopping malls in the town area. An anchorage is nearby which makes it convenient when we decide to go at anchor.

  Nice Hotel with a big breakfast. The rooms are big and clean but maybe a bit old fashioned. The roof terrace was really nice.

  Kind staff, very helpfull and giving the hotel a friendly atmosphere. Hotelrooms are nice and clean and surroundings are just beautiful with a view over the Marina from most rooms. I can only recommend it.
