Can I be car free in Portugal?
Are any of you able to bike / train / walk everywhere without the need for a car? That would be my dream.

Depends on where you live. We live in Coimbra and have no need for a car. Public transportation plentiful and cheap.

We live in Lisbon. No car (and haven't missed owning one.)

I used to cycle everywhere but Lisbon is much too hilly.

Public transport even in remote villages is excellent.

We live in the Miragaia area of Porto and we have no need for a car. Everything we need is in walking distance and if the bus or Metro can't get us there, we get an Uber.
