• Pulau Perhentian

  Pulau Perhentian is an island situated in the east coast of Malaysia under the state of Terengganu.It is situated about a 30 minute speed boat ride from Kuala Besut Jetty.
  
  There are 2 islands here called Pulau Perhentian Kecil (small island) and Pulau Perhentian Besar (big island). Pulau Perhentian basically translates to 'stop island', so called because it was a place used by traders and sea travelers those days as a stopping point.
  
  It's a beautiful island with the only mode of transportation being sea travel on little boats or sampans. These days there are motorized speed boats but there is also a slow ferry still running from the mainland.
  
  Pulau Perhentian is also a protected marine park and it's a divers haven.

• Pulau Perhentian Kecil

  Perhentian Kecil is the smaller of the two Perhentian Islands, with the other one called Besar.
  
  Perhentian Kecil is truly paradise on earth. White sandy beaches, crystal clear water ideal for snorkeling and diving, nice nightlife, the island is a true haven for all backpackers.
  
  With development levels far below those of other Malaysian Islands such as Langkawi or Penang, Perhentian Kecil offers untouched natural beauty in a very cordial and friendly atmosphere. Kecil has more than one beach with the best one definitely being Long Beach, followed closely by Coral Bay.
  
  Long Beach, as the name suggests, is a long stretch of beach with a wide variety of accommodation options. From very budgeted toilet-sharing chalets in the range of RM 30 per night, there is the option of fine air-conditioned accommodation in the form of Bubu Long Beach Resort.
  
  All in all, Perhentian Kecil is the ideal place to have a laid back vacation where one can soak up the sun and completely unwind.

  Beautiful island to have a short / long vacation. Its made up of two islands, namely Pulau Perhentian Kecil and Pulau Perhentian Besar. Choose the correct arrival airport (Kota Bharu) if you are travelling by air.
