  The state capital is Shah Alam and the royal capital is Klang. A third major urban centre is Petaling Jaya which was awarded city status on 20 June 2006. Hence, Selangor is one of only two Malaysian states with more than one city.

  Klang bak kut teh is famous among the Chinese population. It is a herbal pork soup which is eaten during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  
  Coastal towns such as Klang and Kuala Selangor are also famed for seafood.

• Subang Jaya

  Subang Jaya is a middle to upper class housing area in Selangor, Malaysia. You will only find houses, houses and more houses. This place used to be palm plantations some 30 years ago. Commonly known as Subang or SJ but do not confuse with Subang airport. The Subang airport is not located in Subang Jaya.
  
  Subang Jaya is often outshined by its neighbours such as Sunway and Puchong in terms of food and entertainment. Nonetheless, some places offer excellent various type of food. One commonly known food paradise among the locals is Taipan USJ. Some of the shopping malls in Subang Jaya is Subang Parade, the newly-opened Empire mall,USJ summit and the new USJ19 digital mall. Subang Jaya is only 5 minutes away from Sunway Lagoon or Sunway pyramid. There are several hypermarkets - Carrefour, Giant and Mydin. There is a nice park called Lakeview located next to Federal highway. Subang Jaya Medical Center (SJMC)is right next to the park.
  
  So one of the reason you found yourself reading this descrption is either you have a family/friend living in Subang Jaya or you are a Malaysian looking for a good place to eat in Subang Jaya. To get to Subang Jaya, take a KTM train or a bus from KL. The KTM commuter station has the same name as the city. It's relatively easy to take a Metro bus from Puduraya or Rapid KL bus from Pasar Seni.

• Klang

  Klang is one of the oldest towns located southwest in the state of Selangor. It was a tin mining town that the two local chieftains, Raja Abdullah and Raja Mahadi, fought over. Klang is known as a royal town for it is home to the state's sultanate and its ancestors.
  
  It is located about 32 km to the west of Kuala Lumpur and 6 km east of Port Klang, one of the busiest ports in the world. It was the civil capital of Selangor in an earlier era before the emergence of Kuala Lumpur and the current capital, Shah Alam.
  
  Klang is home to cheap seafood, delicious banana leaf rice meals and the "bak kut teh".

Architecturally, Putrajaya will be an indigenous city with a modern look. It’s development marked a new era for modern cities planning in Malaysia. The city embraces the concept of an intelligent garden city and showcases the best of Malaysian architectural design in an environmentally-friendly setting of beautifully landscaped lakes and parks.
  
  The city was named after Malaysia’s First Malaysia Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra. Together with an area covering 4,931 hectares, Putrajaya is situated 25 kilometers from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur in the north and 20 kilometers from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at Sepang in the south.
  
  The prime areas in Putrajaya City are divided into precincts and consists of government offices, as well as commercial, residential and recreational areas.
