The historic vestige city-centre of Brielle used to be economically equal to Amsterdam (14-15th century). From those days most houses remain, which makes walking through Brielle a swim though the old of knights of damsels.

Brielle however was ever more of the orphans and pilgrims and a few steps from the old cathedral they went to (Catharijnekerk) were even the father of the Dutch king got married (the one whose grand grand grand grand grand son, now sits on the throne of the Netherlands) you'll find a little cosy place with the luxury of now, build in an old vegetable warehouse.

Welcome to B&B De Zeeuwse Ruyter, where the past still lives.

    Reasons to visit:

    The 5 biggest reasons are:
    - Exploring the history of Brielle, starting in the history-museum set in the former cityhall, my neighbour.
    - Enjoying one of the 25 café's and restaurants @ walking distance together with a bustling crowd of locals
    - Enjoying one of the many many festivities organised throughout the whole summer like the "1-april" celebration, the liberation festival and the blues-festival. Throughout the summer almost every weekend has something to offer.
    - Going to one of the nearby beaches and/or beachclubs.
    - Cycling through the quite rural outskirts of forests and typically Dutch "polder" (agricultural lands, won back from the sea).
    - See The "2e Maasvlakte" (which also has huge public beaches)

From the owner: Personal attention and a feel for what the guest wants. I still travel the world and know what I miss. I try not make my guests miss anything. Nor do I like dirt, so keep the rooms ultra-clean, as new as they were only 1 year ago, when the whole warehouse (which didn't even have windows) was renovated.

Furthermore I don't like extra fees or rules, so everything is always included and if you want me to do your laundry because you had a good time chasing your dog over the vestige-walls, I'll do it for you, for free, like anything you ask (in the realm of good reason).
