Users Assigned: KazmiSitting off the coast of Valencia in the Mediterranean Sea, Ibiza is an autonomous community that is technically a part of Spain. Alongside its sister island of Formentera, it is one of the Pityuses, or Pine Islands, and is also part of the Balearic Island group. Traditionally, the island is known for being a party-centric destination, popular for its many famous nightclubs, events and DJs.
Its nightlife is legendary and at times riotous; internationally well-known nightclubs are Privilege, Amnesia, Space, Pacha, Eden, and Es Paradis. During the peak summer season, famous leading dance-music DJ’s come to the island and play at the various clubs. Some of the most famous DJs run their own weekly nights around the island. Many of these DJs use Ibiza as an outlet for presenting new songs.
However, there is more to Ibiza than the club scene. The island contains large portions of land that are registered as World Heritage Sites, and are thus protected from commercialisation and development, giving visitors a wide range of activities to choose from, whether it's soaking up the sun on one of the pristine beaches, or simply crawling through the beautiful, lush landscapes that the island has to offer.
The islands themselves have been popularized as island destinations for thousands of years, with the Phoenicians first establishing a port in the Balearic Islands in 654 BC. Since then, the islands have seen the Romans, the Greeks, and more, and the remnants of ancient peoples can be seen in the varied architecture throughout. Even today there is evidence of a strong Moorish influence, yet the overall vibe of the Balearic Islands is definitely Spanish.
Between the rugged coastlines, the sandy beaches, the Old Ibiza Town city ruins (similar in many ways to the old town of Nesebar in Bulgaria) with the old remnants of days long gone rising above the sea and the rest of the landscape like some craggy guardian, and places like Cala d’Hort, God’s Finger, Atlantis, or Cala de sa Galera, there is just too much to take in on one visit.
Hardly surprising then, that this beautiful island is one of the most popular destinations in the Mediterranean, and as such the crowds can be somewhat spectacular in the summer months; be prepared to fight for beach space if you come here high-season in July or August.

Ibiza... wow... the most magical place I've ever been to. Ibiza is just one of those places you HAVE to visit once in your lifetime. I am a young guy in my twenties, so the partying, girls, and liveliness of the island is phenomenal! Besides the cliches, the island itself is beautiful; blue turquoise waters, majestic mountain ranges, and gorgeous beaches. Ibiza is a place you'll NEVER forget and will come back regularly.

Amazing landing on the beach here after sailing for three days from soul Dania this was a real culture shock and a real party feeling everybody’s half naked including the women without tops. lots of piercing , funky earrings, tattoos, young, old, anywhere people, smoking , drinking beer . It is very much like huge nightclub that never stops

Well organised, good looking attractive, noisy place, too much parties. Lots of tourist, nice inhabitants. Gorgeous sites. Fast service, polite staff, expensive prices, I would go there again. Opening hours are ok. Get there easy. We did by cruise.

Beautiful island, entertainment skews young but gorgeous scenery for people out of the party scene as well
