      • Bergen
Bergen came to prominence as the heart of the busy Norwegian fishing trade, though don’t let that put you off: for the tourist it offers so much more. For a start, the city centre is so old and ornate that UNESCO have deemed it worthy of ‘world heritage sight’ status, with sights including an aging fish market, the tiny wooden houses that form the core of the city, and date back to the 1700s, and the striking draw of the 13th century Bergenhus Fortress.

The sights to be found in Bergen, to be honest, are almost countless. You could write a lengthy book on this tiny city, with every corner seeming to hide something new and enticing to stare at, photograph or explore for innumerable happy hours. The German Wharf is at the very heart of it all, with its colorful, photogenic buildings that have been at the heart of countless fires, but continue to be rebuilt from wood.

Exploring the Holmen – a center of 13th century political power – reveals the rustic, crumbling side of this ancient city, with the monumental Hakon Hall sitting in the heart of it all, still standing proud after all this time. The array of museums and impressive churches to be found in the city is expansive, while you can get a stunning overview of it all from the top of the Floibanen, a funicular that takes you to the heights of a local peak. For a real taste of how life was in old times (rather than just a glance at the impressive buildings), try the out of town reconstruction at Gamle Bergen, a hilly, wooden town.

If you find time to get out of town, you’ll find yourself amongst some of the most beautiful fjords in Norway, sights that in many places would be real must sees, but with so much on offer in Bergen you could be forgiven for giving them a miss, though you may regret it. It might not be up there with the world’s top names in tourism, but Bergen’s certainly equally memorable.

Don't miss to take the cable car at floybanen, The cable car will take the people up to see the top of mount floyen and you can see the landscape view of Bergen city from the height, It's so beautiful sight, Floybanen is one of Bergen tourist spot and it's very famous.

        • Pretty cool as airports go. Very small but you get decent amount of shopping choices. Of course the food choices are also good. A bit confusing at first but it's alright. Also, the security checks are very fast. So plan accordingly. The only issue is that you might find it troublesome to get to the place but the connections are alright so that might not be an huge issue unless it occurs quite early in the morning when the buses to the airport/city center are every one hour.
        • The line for security was a little long but only took about twenty minutes. Very easy to navigate. While the food options are varied, they didn't look good so I didn't buy any
        • Advantages of being small is its rather short walks and less hassle, but it gets crowded sometimes
        • Check in went smoothly. No problems with boarding. Seemed pretty typical airport.
        • A small, yet efficient airport. I arrived 30 minutes before my flight and was at my gate with time to read before boarding.
        • Average airport. Sorry, average Norwegian airport. Once all passengers were boarded, the plane took just 2 minutes to back up and take off. Like all Norwegian airports, departures are super quick because it's never too crowded. But then again, like every Norwegian Airport, you can only buy stuff if you are departing, not exiting/arriving, which is totally strange and I don't want to know why this system was incorporated. But it's their rules and I could care less. However, the staff told me that the shops outside accept any customer. They all speak English. And Bergen? I love those bathroom signs unlike the conventional ;)
        • I liked it here, there were huge glass windows to look out of inside and lots of comfortable seats. Not far away is the affordable and scenic train into the city which has lovely views.
        • Small airport. Norwegian routinely flies through here. Quick layover that didn’t last too long. I’d recommend!
        • When I traveled through the Bergen airport on Dec. 22, 2017, I found lots of people sitting on the floor due to insufficient seating capacity at the gates. Also, the garbage bins were overflowing and there were lines at the restrooms. This is a shame for a newly redesigned airport. The management should take responsibility and improve facilities for passengers to make sure that situations like these do not happen again.
        • Modern structure very functional easily ways out with dutie free coffee shop and restaurant well served by bus all day and night nicely clean and big parking structure also the airport is popular for elector friendly staffs English speaking and helpful direct flying from Rome with Norway flying companies.
        • Nice small airport, and the views during take off and landing are stunning. There are not too many places to shop or eat, but the available places are fine. The airport is clean and it is very easy to get to Bergen. You can take the tram for a reasonable price, it is about 40 minutes to the city center.
        • Clean, modern, straightforward airport. There are laptop nooks, reclining chairs and power plugs everywhere. Best of all, the Bybanen light trail takes you right from the city centre to the airport. Every time I fly from here, the staff is always exceptional: kind, informative, and gets everyone through security quickly. Never had a bad experience at Bergen Airport.
        • 30 minutes to get checked bags to the belt whether it's 1130 and klm or 2330 and SAS. No drinking water fountains on arrival...walk up to departures, past bag drop and you'll see a fountain on right side. No Sim cards for purchase at airport. Good views. Decent shops and food for domestic departures. International departures is a different story. Poor food options, more expensive, no power outlets.
        • Very clean and organized airport. Nice playing space for toddlers/ babies. The fish and chips place sells good fresh fish. Easy parking too. Many hotels close to the airport.
        • Nice aiprort with all facilities and not crowdy. Easy access from the city by bus.
        • Small yet efficient airport. Organized and relatively clean. Perhaps not that new but made well with a lot of wood furnishings. Limited food options but the prices aren’t outrageous. Coffee machine could be better. Some long queues to go through customs and to board but they moved reasonably fast.
        • Despite its modern architecture I hope this isn't the airport of the future for the following reasons: I arrived in Bergen by train from Oslo, so my first (and so far only) experience of Bergen airport was leaving on a domestic flight to another part of Norway. All check-in is by automatic machines, and while this is standard in most airports in the western world, I had yet to see so many machines without a single person on hand to help in case of difficulties. I ended up helping an elderly couple who were rather confused by it all. As there was a massive queue at the baggage drop-off counter manned by a human we ended up doing the self-service baggage drop-off (and ended up running after another passenger to let him know he had unwittingly left his luggage on the belt without it going through. Not sure if this would not have otherwise led to airport evacuation as an abandoned piece of luggage?). Bear in mind that there is no luggage weighing machine that I could see before you load your luggage. The security queue was long but moved quite quickly. However the security system they have in place (similar to Edinburgh airport if you know that) is inadequately explained, and means you have the impression of "queue jumping" when it's your turn; as this goes against most people's human nature it slows the whole process down as they hold back. Things would move faster if the system was better explained. Once airside, prices are similar to those all over Norway. The actual boarding process is also automated, which means the first human interaction we actually had was with cabin crew after take-off.
        • Free cold drinking water available, lot of electricity outlets next to comfortable seats, spacious waiting area. Quick and easy train connection straight from airport to city center.
        • A small but well organized airport. Easy and cheap access to Bergen (about 4 Euros with the light rail), clean restrooms and friendly staff. One advice only is that there is limited security check lines so be there a bit earlier to avoid any stress as it might get crowded.
        • Much of this small domestic and international airport is self-service. There are a limited number of polite personnel available to assist. The boarding pass and check-in kiosks are self-serve. Have passports for all your party ready. Do not be surprised if you can only get boarding passes for a small section of your total flight itinerary. The baggage check-in counters for all airlines except SAS are to the left. They open approximately 2 hours before the departure of the flight. Once past the baggage area, the security clearance begins. This can take some time. The line can be quite long. Look to see if your airline is listed in the express queue to the left. Once through security, you are probably headed to the international terminal. You will pass through a one-way gate into the duty-free section. The international gates are past the duty-free area. Ours contained only one electrical outlet strip for the whole gate. The power was on a vertical column roughly in the center of the gate waiting area. The chairs were actually quite uncomfortable. Overall, a moderately successful airport.
