Batangas is one of the most popular tourist destinations near Metro Manila. It is part of the Southern Tagalog Region and a more or less 2 to 3 hours of travel from Manila, making it an ideal weekend getaway from busy and hectic Manila.

It is known for its great beaches and diving sites. Found in the province is the world-famous Anilao and its many dive sites that are ideal for poking around and observing marine life, and outstanding for macro photography.

The town of Taal is famous for its hand embroideries, knives or "balisong" and its preserved sites of the Spanish colonial era in the Philippines. Not to be missed are the centuries-old churches and heritage houses.

Taal Lake and Volcano in Batangas is Southern Luzon’s centerpiece attraction. Known to be the smallest in the world, it is a volcano within an islet within a lake within a crater within a volcano.
