Here are some reviews of ADD - don't forget to let us know how you got on by using the drop box at the bottom of the page, or joining our community and making a review.

      • Terminal 2 has interesting gift shops and duty free shops. But once you pass the x-ray to the gates there's nothing on the other side, not even a restaurant or a water fountain. Just very improvised restrooms. So, be sure to do whatever you want before you enter the long and slow x-ray line. There's no formal going back, though they'll let you back if you look desperate enough.
      • Pretty Grimm Toilets are bad. I was having a pee and the female cleaner stood next to me cleaning the urinal. That's the only reason it got 2 stars. Overcrowded. Badly signposted. It's a shame because flying Ethiopian was a dream. Returned a month later and the toilets had been sorted . Different place altogether.
      • organized and comfortable airport.. good view from sitting areas in gates.. helpful staff
      • Very busy at 6am when I passed through. Polite helpful staff, easy to follow to transit lounge. An extra baggage check before my entrance to transit lounge.
      • There is a lot space to improve. The airport should stand proudly as Ethiopian hub, but the services, public areas, walkways, stores, cafés, waiting facilities are terrible. The worst of all are toilets - placed in the container with difficult access for elderly and disabled. The are ugly and dirty. Internet connection is poor. What I appreciate is the plenty of seating and lying (you can have a nap!). The new terminal building is in progress.
      • I flew here as a stopover on my way to Kilimanjaro. The airport gets pretty busy in the morning when I arrived and please bring your own toilet paper here. The bathrooms are few and I noticed that when people do find a stall, they have to search for toilet paper. You can try finding janitors to give you a roll but that is if you can track them down. There are enough stores to keep you occupied as you are browsing but once you pass customs there are no stores available so you need to buy water beforehand (that's assuming security lets you bring water over). They are expanding the airport so hopefully the logistics is better.
      • Rather chaotic airport where gates changes at the last moment are regular. Listen carefully to airport personnel running around. Once you go through customs there are no shops anymore, so wait until you need to go to the gate! Passengers in transit zone probably don't even have access to the shops, so be prepared!
      • The worst airport on earth. You can't tell who's the thief and who's the employee. The employees need more training. They have the worst customer service. First time going back home after more than a decade, the airport is terrific from inside to outside. Full of thieves. Be careful at the airport
      • I call it Africa's best. I will give 5 Stars If the duty free shop employee's stoped hiding the Black Label whiskey's. Always out. and the airport needs more duty free shops and more businesses and clean restrooms.
      • This airport is a nightmare, there is no organization at all. I was supposed to be at gate 8 at 23.10 (29th of July) to fly to Paris and I took the same queue (the one for gate 8) at 22.45 as my friends when a mean guy told me that I should go to another place. I insisted saying my friends are on the queue and he took my passport and tickets, I asked him to give me back my papers and he told me he has every right even the one of having me miss my plane. Then I went to the place he told me, and 5 minutes later someone took me back to the original queue I wanted to go. I'm really disappointed to the way I was treated, threatened and handled here. If it is the way Ethiopia is welcoming tourists I have no intention of coming back being threatened like this is the worst I have ever seen in any airport in the world.
      • It's too small but for Africa I think is not bad. Friendly people and lovely weather.
      • For a home base of the largest airline in Africa, this is way below the international standards. Chaotic and very long lines, especially at peak times and unclean toilets. I do hope that they improve the facilities and provide better training for staff.
      • I call it Africa's best. I will give 5 Stars If the duty free shop employee's stoped hiding the Black Label whiskey's. Always out. and the airport needs more duty free shops and more businesses and clean restrooms.
      • Terminal 1 is very old and got very few options hanging out places and food joints. The new terminal is looking awesome.
      • Fast growing up airways in Africa links Africa to the world
      • I spent a whole day here waiting for my connecting flight and I don't have anything to complain about. The WC facilities are clean. There are various restaurants at the international terminal. They have reclining benches where you can take a nap. Security is good. The view of the runway is magnificent as well.
      • I had spent several hours in this airport waiting for my connection, it was nice experience. Another time I had stopover more than 8 hours though Ethiopia Airlines and they gave free hotel, free visa entry and lunch. Overall it was nice experience. there is a place for muslims to pray even-though it is very small, the duty free shop prices are very reasonable at that time.
      • It's not O'Hare or Dallas. Which is good. The boarding times are general, but get there and be ready. You walk out to the plane, which is just part of the experience. Try not to get too caught up in the chaos and just enjoy the environment. Be sure to check on your bags to be sure they are checked all the way through to your destination, actually...be sure to check several times.
      • Quite a large airport. Ethiopian airlines seems to run the show at this terminal. There is a London cafe and Bar which costs 25 US dollars for food and drinks. Free airport WiFi available but the service fluctuates. Great stop over for Cape town or Lagos. Also has free drinking water at 3 different temperatures... now that's a first.
      • Very Important airport junction for African countries. Flights to all destination for African countries are available from here. The airport is very small and due to same the there are huge pressures of passengers from different destination of world. The airport building and area are being expanded now days to handle huge number of passengers.
      • The terminal isn't the cleanest and most comfortable. Not much to do either. Avoid long layovers. Although it's not extravagant, the handful of local curios are quite fun to look at. The leather products are great and super cheap.
      • All the basic services are at the airport but being a hub it is very busy. There are several bars and restaurants that charge quite a lot in $s for what is simple food and drinks. I have never been able to get internet at the airport although there are signs advising it is available. Bearing in mind how much Ethiopia has changed for the better over past 30 years I have to give a good score.
      • Ethiopians who work at this airport are rude. Most of them do not care to speak English even though the airport and Ethiopian Airlines is supposed to also cater to non Ethiopians. My experience at this airport on all occasions including the most recent trip on March 20 2018 has been extremely negative. My experience with the airline is also is negative. I went through security and the ground staff were speaking to me in Amharic and laughing while conducting a security check, going through my personal belongings. When I asked them if there was any issue the security staff continued to speak their local language and laughed more. I complained to one of the supposed supervisor who was not as helpful and they continued to speak Amharic or their local language with complete disregard to me that I didn't understand what was being said about me. The toilets don't flush at times and it seems a very chaotic hub. Some of the duty free shops have the most rude store clerks. Not to mention that Ethiopian Airlines staff members on the ground and airline staff will first help other Ethiopians even though you were first in line. This happens at Addis Ababa Airport and Dulles Washington International airport. I remember asking a question about a connecting flight the staff member skipped my question and literally moved on to speak to another person in Amharic while I was standing in line before the other passenger. So I think its a one star rating for this Airport.
