16 yr old boy travelling alone into Antalya airport
Hi all. We hope to be in Antalya all summer. Is there any reason to worry about traveling through the airports or if my son has to travel one way without us (16 year old). I am pretty openly political, but always anti-violence. Has there been targeting of just normal opinionated people?

I've lived here in Antalya for over 13 years and I've never heard of any problems

Lots of people all over in Turkiye have been imprisioned and arrested for writing politics and critizising the goverment. Even students at universities who made pics with a plate with Hayir on it, and we love Ataturk got arrested recently. Some foreigners who did same on fb or twitter I read, got problems to, some are lucky some are not. Since july 2016 everything got more worse. It up to every individual to take that chance or not.

He will be absolutely fine. Security in airports is very tight and workers are generally helpful and friendly (passport police aside!)
