Overview You can't Edit
Family friendly Rosewood Cottages and Vacation House Rentals in the town of Southampton Ontario, have up-to-date modern conveniences and are clean. A 3 bedroom vacation home and/or one and two bedroom cottages. With heated pool, tennis courts, golfing, and a water front location which is perfect for fishing you can keep the whole family entertained.

Getting there? You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricWe are located in the town of Southampton, in the municipality of Saugeen Shores, Bruce county, which is on the shores of Lake Huron in the south of the Bruce Peninsula. We are about a 2½ hour drive northwest from Toronto. Easiest route is hwy. 10 north to Hwy. 21 south in Owen Sound. A bus is available at greybruceairbus.com. -
Getting around? You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricA car is recommended to take advantage of so many fun and interesting day trips, but locally we have taxi and trolley services for nearby shopping and beaches. Bike rentals are available in town to take advantage of our excellent bike trails.

What can you see and do? You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricFishing at your doorstep, including motorboat rentals, several excellent golf couses close by, fantastic beaches and sunsets, tennis courts and bike trails. Canoe and kayak rentals are available for an excellent day of paddling the Saugeen. The Southampton museum, Southampton market and Southampton Art School are right in town, and the amphitheatre at the Saugeen First Nation is just a five minute drive. Port Elgin and Sauble beach are setup especially to be a blast for the kids As for day trips, the Bruce peninsula has so much to offer, from glass bottom boats to caves to unbelievable scenic hiking! -
Accommodation Description Room and Lodgings You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricWe have one 3 bedroom Vacation House which sleeps ten (one queen, five single, one double/single bunkbed. Two 2 bedroom cottages that sleep five (double, double single bunkbed) One 2 bedroom that slleps four (double, buinkbed) And one 1 bedroom cottage that sleeps two, or three if the pullout is used (double, pull-out in the livingroom)

What can you buy? You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricOur local bakery (see Offshore Bakery) offers tasty treats locally, the Southampton Meat Market has excellent locally raised Bruce County Grass Fed, Grass Finished, Beef, which is dry aged for a minimum of 21 days to ensure natural flavour & tenderness., as well as excellent grade pork, chicken, etc.The Southampton Market has a unique selection of unfinished furniture, furniture parts, hardware, tools, and a myriad of interesting things to buy in over two acres of Factory Outlet Market shopping. The Southampton Art Gallery sells and showcases art by the finest regional and local talent, and is right in the heart of downtown Southampton! Antiques, Flea markets, regular hardware and big box stores are all here as well. -
What can you eat here? You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricWe have many great local restaurants, from expensive, fine dining to country to fast food and pizza joints. So, should you decide to eat out instead of cooking in your cottage, you won't have to go far to find exactly what you feel like eating! For your eat at home meals, there is a Foodland a couple of blocks down the street, and the Walmart is in Port Elgin, about ten minutes away. -

Users Assigned: rswdricQuite a few local bars and pubs are here. Several offer live music and outdoor patios in the summer. -
Internet, telephone & communications You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricWifi is provided onsite and is available in all of our cottages, and is reasonably fast (cable internet), unlimited, and free to use, Cell coverage is good for most providers (Wind/Freedom Mobile not available though, the last time we checked). There is a landline in the office if you are stuck or in case of emergency. -
Car Parking You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricWe have a lot of parking spaces to accommodate our guests cars. Parking on the street is also allowed. -
Pets allowed You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricWe do allow pets at Rosewood. We ask that you bring a blanket to cover any piece of furniture your pet will be sleeping on. To maintain safety and harmony, we ask that you keep pets contained on your site, clean up after them, and do not leave pets alone in your cottage if they tend to bark. -
Golf Course You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricThere are many excellent courses nearby. Southampton Golf and Country is just down the street about five minutes, Saugeen Golf Club with its 27 holes is about ten minutes, along with South Port a more casual and economical 9 hole course. Like Links stye? Try Pipers Glen, which is about 15 minutes drive. Many other fine courses less than 45 minutes drive as well. -
Toilet facilities You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricEach cottage has hot water and a three piece bathroom (toilet, sink and shower), and the Rosewood Vacation House has a four piece bath (tub too). There is a common bathroom near the pool, under the house, with access from outside, which has a toilet, sink and shower as well. -
Noise and Ambient Sounds You can't Edit

Reception Desk You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricOur reception desk is in our office, located in a converted cabin onsite. Our manager lives onsite with his partner. and the owners often stay onsite for weeks at a time as well. In our office have a large rack which holds many flyers for local attractions. We have some board games and videos available here as well. We watch for guests who we are expecting. If you drop in unexpected, just ask for Jon, Erin, Richard or Beth. There is an "office" sign on the office cabin. -
Cooking Facilities You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricAll of our cottages and the Rosewood Vacation House have clean well equipped kitchens. Stoves with ovens, microwaves, coffee makers, dishes, pots, pans, cutlery etc. Dishwasher in the house only. -
Fishing You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricFishing is fantastic whether fishing from our 600' of Saugeen shoreline or trolling in one of our rentals. We are about one km. from the mouth at Lake Huron, with about 14' water depth along that stretch. Ontario Steelheaders know how well the Rainbow fishery has been maintained here. While the Coho and Chinook are below their historical abundance levels, many of these monsters are landed in the river here during the September run. Around June, we also have a great number of Channel Cats coming in, as well as Walleye, and the Bass fishing is excellent all summer long. If you decide to canoe or kayak, you will be surprised by the Pike and Musky once you set in upriver. Come compete with the Osprey and Kingfisher. We are sure that you will find peace and enjoyment fishing here. -

Camping You can't Edit
Users Assigned: rswdricRosewood Cottages also has a campsite! It is located on the riverside and is great for those who can "rough it", but certainly not for everyone. While there is electricity and water, there is no parking at the campsite, so one needs to carry their gear from the parking area about 200' down to the campsite. Please enquire first before booking our campsite.

Southampton is our personal favourite vacation getaway and Rosewood Cottages is an excellent place to stay. We have stayed on multiple occasions and found that the price is right and the staff are friendly. The cottages are in terrific condition and well supplied with everything you may need. There is plenty to do onsite with a heated pool, campfires, a river to fish or boat, and plenty to do in the surrounding area. After visiting some other cottage resorts in other areas, we found ourselves missing Rosewood Cottages exceptionally. It simply can't be beat!

The best cottage resort that we have visited & we have yet to find a spot that can beat it. Rosewoods setup and staff are awesome and we leave as happy campers every time. Whether you are in the vacation house or one of the smaller cottages, you will find yourself at home. Rosewood Cottages and Southampton in general is a great spot to be.
