  Canada’s bilingual capital brings with it a blended culture: French and English speakers mixed with attitudes and outlooks reflecting both the language’s homes, making the city an exhilarating and enticing stop off on a North American tour.
  
  Start at the heart of the city and the heart of Canadian democracy, exploring the imposing architecture and inner workings of Parliament Hill. Both self guided and stirring tour-guided trips are offered (go for the centre block tour, which gives you a peek at everything from the House of Commons to the Parliament Library). In the summer, sit out on the vast lawns and watch the daily Changing of the Guard or the nightly light show projected onto the building’s side.
  
  Summer or winter, Ottawa is a real outdoor city. In the heart of the winter, strap on some skates and hit the Rideau Canal, or head to the impressive selection of local ski runs, before sampling a ‘Beaver’s Tail’ (fortunately not a literal description) at the slope side. In the summer, the endless lengths of cycle trails are the perfect way to explore the city, or (for the more enthusiastic of cyclists) head out of the city and find a place to sample the local maple candy.
  
  If you prefer to stay in the warm (and if you visit at winter, you usually will), there are an impressive variety of museums to explore, including a detailed look at the original migration of Europeans to Canada in the impressive Civilization Museum (architecture lovers will love this building, too). The Museum of Nature, the National Gallery, and the War Museum both make for notable asides, too, while those with a love of lively sports could do much worse than take in the carnage that is an Ottawa Senators ice hockey game.
  
  Ottawa is one of those capital cities that doesn’t quite overwhelm the other destinations offered in the country. It does, however, give a great chance to learn about Canadian roots and explore a modern city with blended influences and a lively, outgoing take on life.

  Had a blast here with the family. Pricey as far as the admission is concerned but was very pleasantly surprised at the relatively low cost for food once inside. Rides were fun, and the kids had a great time. However my wife did have her sunglasses stolen while on a ride that didn't allow for sunglasses to be worn, and made you put them in boxes that were easily accessible to anyone.

  I have an amzing day here. Modern slides, cool bars and restaurants. Huge wave pool, lots of picnic tables. Definitely 5

  Unless you really enjoy overcrowded pools and boring rivers where nothing ever happens, don't go. Also, they get a big ZERO for safety. They don't even control the amount of people going into the tube rides, so you just get bumped and hit the whole time, not even to mention the people piling up at the exit of the rides because they won't get out, and the "lifeguards" don't do anything to control the crowds. The wavepool was so full I wouldn't let my kids in for fear they would get hit and held underwater. Seriously, we could barely even see the water, that's how many folks were in there. Will not go back, like ever.

  I had the most amazing experience at Calypso water park. The staff were so amazing and helpful! My grandfather died in the park and got sucked into a drain but the staff found another dead old man and resuscitated my grandfathers spirit into the spare body. Now he's as good as new and doesn't even need hip surgery! Thanks Calypso.

  We come here every year except this year we choose to get a cabana rather than fighting to find a random picnic table around the park. Not that there's anything wrong with that but if your a family or a group the cabana is definitely the way to go! There are two types of cabanas, the original ones across from the lazy river and newer ones across from the wave pool. Even the newer ones are better equipped it's in a very noisy area and it's nice to have some downtime if you'll be spending the day here. There's plenty to do for all ages and we'll certainly be back at least once every season. The only thing missing is some better food choices, it's all fast food. Otherwise a very good park

  Had a blast every time I come here. The rides are generally really fun. I love their river flow. One of the place you cannot miss.

  Well-designed layout, but the entrance resting area could use more tables. The facility itself is clean and chlorine levels are not overbearing. Wait times are reasonable, even during slightly hotter weekends, but having someone to talk to helps immensely. The rides are fun but not all the lifeguards are alert enough given the amount of guests (at least compared to city and other private pools).

  Always been fun when I went. Lines can be long sometimes but eh, not their fault. Has a decent variety of stuff to do so can be fun for a good day trip

  They have awesome slides and lots of other attractions but don't go on a busy day or else you will spend all your time in lines!

  This park is awesome and fun for all ages or family of any size the park is usually packed in extremely busy but you can rent a veela for breaks in your own cooler is welcome staff is wonderful and very friendly best water park we've ever been to as a family

  So it's crowded - means people have great ideas like you! What fun!!! So many water rides, and each year it is as exciting and fun as the last! I adore the Congo ride and lazy river!! Children of all ages can find fun here. People from all cultures share this water wonderland. It is awesome. It IS expensive. Parking $10, locker storage $20 deposit, $10 back when key returned, admission $40. You are permitted into bring your own food and beverages. If not, there are plenty of on-site choices to choose from. Plan for the entire day, it passes by SO quickly!! #localguide

  Went last summer with my husband and son, I was (very visibly) 8.5 months pregnant and was only there to spend time with my family and very clearly wouldn't be going on any rides. I asked if there was any type of discounted rate that I could pay; the seniors or youth rate for example and was told no, full price adult rate. I paid $50 to sit on a lounge chair all day. Their lack of flexibility was really disappointing. It is extremely expensive from the parking, to admission to food but otherwise rides are kind of fun when the line ups aren't ridiculously long.
