• Bermuda

  One of a number of claimants to the mythical position of '51st state' due to its seemingly unstoppable position as a US tourist draw, balmy Bermuda is a tropical millionaires playground, full of extravagant, upper class resorts that’ll pamper ‘til you drop. Cosmopolitan Hamilton mixes the colonial and the trendy, where you can sample grilled rockfish and sip world-class wine before celebrity spotting along the waterfront mansions, or take a horse drawn carriage down cobbled streets and explore the depths of the dungeons below the weighty cannons and wooden walkways of Fort Hamilton. St George is equally charming, if a little less modernized, and has a serene pace about its aging churches and cobbled streets.
  
  The Royal Naval Dockyard offers up another grandiose taste of Bermuda’s maritime past, with a massive and detailed museum to take you through it all, as well as the old stone buildings and a cooperage still to explore. The extensive Scaur Hill Fort, tiny Somerset drawbridge and cast-iron Gibbs Hill Lighthouse are also tastes of a heady maritime past well worth exploring.
  
  If you came to Bermuda, though, you’ll certainly want to spend some time on the beach. The pink sand of Horseshoe Bay is one of the most picturesque spots, with a gentle forested backdrop and large boulders spattered across the sands at low tide. Elbow Beach is a more stereotypical tropics beach, with white sand, palm trees and a long line of big-ticket resorts tucked away behind swimming pools to the back. Bring some serious bucks if you're planning to dine out, though the fresh seafood cuisine will more than make up for wallet damage.
  
  For the wilder breed of traveler, you might not go missing in the triangle sense, but there are more than enough natural wonders to keep you going. The Crystal Caves are a distinctive diving destination, where you can explore the underwater expanses or trot peacefully along the bridges and stare dreamily at the divers below. If snorkeling is more your scene, Tobacco Bay’s underwater garden of coral and limestone is equally stimulating.
  
  For all its big-name celebs and high-end hotels, you can make what you like of Bermuda. Wacky underwater adventures and old-world seaside towns give the island a whole different aspect to its charms, and the beaches… well they’re every bit as good as the postcards.

  Beautiful place with friendly and helpful staff. Food costs are at a premium compared to restaurants off-site. Paths below pool area can be unpleasant due to a smell from the hotel septic tank. Overall, I would go back.

  There's a public side, and a resort side. If you're just visiting and not staying at the hotel you can visit the public side. Be careful with the surf and waves, they can be pretty aggressive. But once you're out their, the waves are super fun.

  The grounds here are very well kept, but the rooms are not. It seems like they've let the place go. Mold stains on curtains, shower faucets hanging by a thread, key cards that don't work (repeatedly), no staff working the pool or its food/bar areas. We also had a cockroach issue in our room. The staff was very nice and did give us some credits off our bill due to the issues, which was good. The main hotel isn't even open and hasn't been in years. Place is very understaffed. Just seems like when Mandarin sold it, the new owners decided not to put money into it. And when paying at about 800 a night, we expected more. On the plus side, the food was very good and the beach was gorgeous. . I wouldn't go back until they renovated the whole hotel and villas.

  This is probably the best in Bermuda. The beach, oh the beach, pink, beautiful, as clean as can be, with lounge chairs, umbrellas, multiple plush towels, all waiting. The lodgings are great, with fabulous bathroom amenities. If you can, book a room close to the beach and the Lido restaurants, do it, as they are suites with outdoor terraces overlooking the beach. The food is wonderful, whether at the tapas bar, Mickeys on the beach (which was closed for the winter) or the main restaurant. The wine list is quite good, with a nice selection, including half bottles to enable sampling of different wine regions. And the service was excellent. This is a place to truly enjoy the sun.

  Beautiful views and great people make Elbow Beach Resort a great place to visit. The moderate climate and warm ocean waters of Bermuda add to the experience. I don't want to leave

  Beautiful beach-side resort in one of the best parts of Bermuda. Suites have modern finishes and are extremely comfortable and romantic. The beach front is very clean and gets great weather. The bar is home to one of Bermuda's only live music nights - pop/rock covers and the atmosphere and friendly and fun. Service is great on every level. It's not cheap but nowhere is in Bermuda

  These robbers charge non hotel guests $100 for deck chairs on the beach. Complete corruption and un regulated. When asked for 1 deck chair “sorry they only come in twos” They say the beach is private but all beaches are for public use. We also witnessed that they allowed a third party restaurant to trade on there so called private beach. Bermuda government need to step in to regulate these beaches more and stop these hotels taking the piss out of tourists.
