Amazing place in Karelia Jongunjoen Matkailu Oy Review

We didn’t plan our visit to Jongunjoen Matkailu when we were there in May 2016. We finished kayaking the Jongunjoki and hadn’t decent food in days. We walked from the village center to this accommodation that wasn’t ‘open’. Luckily for us, someone had told her we were on our way. She told us she didn’t have any food since she wasn’t expecting anyone that day but we didn’t mind. We used the cosy little sauna near the lake and were pleasantly surprised she had prepared a meal with ‘leftovers’ for us. Salmon and baked potatoes. If these are leftovers I can’t imagine what the rest would be. Great place to eat, stay probably as well and great owners. Unfortunately, not many tourists make it that way.
