Lovely setting but only for nature/outdoors lovers
Nethy Bridge is a small village nestled in the Caledonian Pine Forest. It is the place to go if you want to get away from it all! It has a village shop, a farm shop/butcher (sells excellent local meat), two hotels and a community centre. Unfortunately there is no cafe but the hotels both serve evening meals to non residents. There are great walks around the village and good biking/hiking trails into the Cairngorms. The area is targeted at nature and outdoors lovers and there are no family attractions in the village apart from a golf course and football pitch. The pinewoods are beautiful all year long but for nature lovers, spring and summer would be the best times to visit. The village hosts a Highland Games in the summer. As many of the houses are second homes, the village can feel like a ghost town out of season.
