Rainforest Adventures Mystic Mountain, Ocho Rios, Jamaica Rainforest Bobsled Jamaica at Mystic Mountain Review

Ocho Rios is another getaway spot for me here in Jamaica, and on one of my trips there last year I visited Rainforest Adventures Mystic Mountain. I’d been hearing a lot about the attractions there, and decided it was time to give them a try.

Mystic Mountain has 3 main attractions. The Bobsled ride, the Canopy Zip Line, and the Sky Explorer. The Bobsled adventure takes you on a speedy ride through the surrounding countryside, with numerous twists and turns. The Canopy Zip Line takes you on a high-flying tour through the verdant rainforest, and then there is the Sky Explorer.

That’s where my adventure started, because there is no other way to get to the top without taking a ride on the Sky Explorer. So what’s the Sky Explorer? It’s a chairlift takes you soaring higher, higher, higher …. and higher still, up to 700ft. with your feet dangling, and nothing but sky above, and the rainforest below. Not scary or anything, but a little too bumpy for me, because it did have a few stops and starts that day.

The view up there is beautiful though, nothing quite like it, and when you get to the top the view is even better if you can imagine that. Mystic Mountain is also home to the most charming Doctor Bird sanctuary I’ve ever seen. The Doctor Bird is the national bird of Jamaica, and is also indigenous to the island.

I enjoyed being atop Mystic Mountain, as they also have an interesting mini ‘museum’ and a lovely pool to cool off in. Unfortunately, I never got around to the Bobsled or Canopy Zip Line … perhaps another time.

Kudos to Mystic Mountain though it’s really a nice getaway, if you’re up for some adventure.
