Meet this hidden European treasure!
Croatia is one of Europe’s rising tourist stars. This remarkable Adriatic country of 1244 islands, bear and wild boar inhabited forests and world-class vineyards is so much more than just a beach destination. Fly into Split and spend the bulk of your time in that area, including an island such as Hvar, Brac or Vis. I do think that Dubrovnik is worth going down to for a couple of days and you can easily get there from Split. If you are traveling for the first time, here are my tips: Croatia for the first time 1. | Stay somewhere central 2. | Take a road trip 3. | Eat local 4. | Island hopping on your own isn’t that easy 5. | Visit Zagreb 6. | Shop at a local green market 7. | Plitvice aren’t the only national park 8. | Visit Istria 9. | Forget trains, use buses instead 10. | Croatia isn’t off the beaten path destination 11. | Taxis are expensive 12. | English is widely spoken 13. | Excellent tourist infrastructure 14. | Don’t be afraid to rent with locals 15. | It’s not cheap, but it doesn’t need to be expensive 16. | Wine here is awesome, and so is olive oil 17. | Croatian currency is Kuna 18. | Pack light Happy Traveling!
