Users Assigned: KazmiHannover, the capital of German state Lower Saxony, has gained international reputation as location of industrial fairs (Hannover Fair) and computer expos (CeBIT).
With a population of over 500.000 Hannover is one of the biggest centers of Northern Germany and a major crossing point of highways and railway lines.
Annual events in Hannover include the world's largest marksmen's funfair (Schützenfest) and the Maschseefest, a 3 week long festival which takes place on the waterfront of an artificial lake, which is located south of the city center.
Main sights are the New Town Hall, the Royal Gardes of Herrenhausen and the Old Town. The Hannover Zoo is one of the best in Europe.
